I have a Hikvision DS-2CD2132F which has been working fine for several months. It's one of four connecting to a DS-7616NI-E2/8P

I noticed this morning that the live view was monochrome (black and white - no colour)

Checking back on the Playback recording I find that at 17.25 yesterday evening this one camera just suddenly lost the colour. This was in bright daylight with all the other cameras recording in colour OK.

This morning in full daylight it's still monochrome. The picture is clear and HD, but no colour.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Would really appreciate any help.

Laurie

Thanks fenderman.

I had rebooted the NVR but not power cycled that camera.

Just power-cycled it and unfortunately it is still monochrome.

Thanks for helping.

Check the camera settings and set it to day mode.. See if anything changes..

Plug your computer directly into one of the NVR PoE ports and set your IP address to 192.168.254.200 and gateway to 192.168.254.1

Run SADP Tool to find the IP address of the camera and then type that into Internet Explorer (e.g. 192.168.254.2)

Thanks Del Boy.

I've logged into the camera and set the camera setting to day mode (it was in auto).

Bingo ! I have a colour image again...THANKS !

Probably the only concern I have is what happens when it goes dark... will post later.

@Lozboz, it'll be really dark at night.

There's a restore to factory default settings (except IP address). Try doing that. It's fixed stuff for me which I can only describe as strange.

what sort of camera region works with your NI NVR??

Any Chinese with hacked English firmware? serial "CCH"

Ok that is strange. I have the same NVR and the same firmware but do not have this button.

Yes CCH work on mine, as do my new shiny WD 4MP ones. Got a 2345 on the way to test on it but china post is sooooo slow (as is ali dispatching it!)

Well sure enough it was very dark!

I've tried a reset but it just went back to a monochrome image.

It would appear that the sensor for day/night isn't working ie. 'Auto'.

I've started experimenting with a scheduled change to see how it goes.

Thanks for all your help.

P.S. Noted all the correspondence re different versions of the firmware. Are you referring to the camera or the NVR?

My DS-7616NI-E2/8P is on V3.0.10 build 141126 and allegedly a genuine UK model. Is there any advantage to upgrading? Where would I find the upgrade?

Can you send the camera back?

If you upgrade to v3.3.4 then you'll be able to set line-crossing etc from the NVR. That's one advantage. Normally I say don't upgrade the firmware but in this case it might be worth it.

What firmware is the camera on?

Thanks

Can't really send the camera back it was a cheapy on eBay from a private seller. It was however sealed and does appear to be a genuine UK model.

I had some condensation in the dome and I suspect that may be the culprit.

Where would I find the upgrade and is it English ?

I'll have to get back to you on the version, I'm away for a couple of days.

The condensation is likely ir reflection that can easily be remedied
