FYI. I tried setting up Line Crossing Detection from my 7608-N E2/8P series NVR and get an error message that the camera does not support this feature. If someone with a different NVR model is able to set it up, please post, otherwise it seems that it is not possible until maybe a future firmware update. Regular motion detection and alarm input triggers work fine.
I wonder why they had to strip down the line crossing. I found it useful. Maybe we should bug Monica about it.

I closed to little window, do I need to start over or can she get back to me?
It should be in the message history. If you want to get her attention, place an order but do not pay for it ;)

Not sure if it was my crimping skills or the camera. My camera drops off randomly sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes hours. and I have to unplug and replug the network cable.

Does that sound like bad crimping?

Just noticed mine does this as well. I went to playback an event and there was 45min missing. I have not noticed a drop in live feed to IVMS-4200 but the recording is not there. About 45min gap.

Alright, not everything is roses:

1. Email notification does not work via NVR, but works when setting within the camera web gui. They seem to have a different setting in the web gui called 'Capture > Capture Upload Email'. The feature itself is very basic and can't customize it much. With Hikvision it send out 3 attachments, this one only sends 1.
2. Notify Surveillance doesn't seem to work fully. In Hikvision camera you get green squares when there is motion and event log. This one only stores event.
3. One of the cams FPS/bitrate resets when using PTZ to 30 fps and 4000k. Other two cams don't seem to do this. Maybe some setting causing this. I couldn't find it

You mean goes off line? I did not have the issue. All 3 cams set to records 24x7 in NVR and I have 5 days of footage without any gaps.

I am hoping someone could figure out a way to load Hikvision firmware on this cam.

I've so far managed to part extract the firmware for this camera from the firmware update, the firmware come as a Zip which is password protected, (got passed that) the file inside is in a .bin format, now trying to split that. HIK'S Tftp does not work, so need to find the loader.

I think, that firmware file must end with .dav like on Hikvision.
I asked also for new firmware, what support iVMS 4200 V2.03 (the latest), but no responce. Good technical support, :).

I suggest use iVMS 4200 V2.03 instead V2.00. Latest have better video streaming.

The firmware is a different from Hikvision in the way is been packed,
But comparing them together it looks like a stripped down version of 5.02,
For the latest version of IVMS-4200 go directly to Hikvision Web site.
The is a reason why Huisun won't get you HIK software, small company wants to keep going without HIK taking in legal action.

Nice! Do you think it is possible to load the new firmware inside zip and update it this way. If course no Tftp means no way to debrick this cam if something goes wrong.

Will be looking into this a bit more on a small switch it might be running on another address and not using hik's tftp, but just a standard.

But I'm also thinking there maybe also another user level too, not just admin, but a root hidden in there somewhere.

I asked Monica if there is a way to load Hikvision software and got an obvious reply, so it's dead end there. Btw, they do have download page in the Chinese section, but no firmware listed http://www.huisuncctv.com/download.asp. We should ask her to update this.

I checked the log of my camera, and it says this. I re crimped the cable. No network tester at the moment.

Checked my log in the past 5 days it has 4k entries, no Exceptions. Are you using POE for power? I had issue initially with POE, it turned out to be a defective plug. The cam does need up 11W of power with IRs

Speaking of log with 4k entries. Seems like a bug where NVR (192.186.1.40) is constantly re configuring image quality for this one camera where I have motion detection set:

I'm currently using a 12v 2A adapter, so I don't think power is a problem. I'll keep playing with it. I'm sure it's user error.

One weird thing is when i plug this to my router, the wan drops and I have to replug the wan....

Not having much luck with Motion Detection configuration. At least it works only when configured from NVR in my case, and overwrites settings in the camera interface, but uses camera settings to send out email. When try to disable it in NVR and enable it in the camera itself it doesn't work. The reason why I wanted to this is to avoid NVR overwriting camera settings whenever there is motion.

Sensitivity is finicky, I am still testing out, but it looks like it needs to be pretty low to reduce multiple emails. Unfortunately, NVR has values from 0-5 where the camera setting is from 0-100, so it increments by 20 only.
