20 total with four doing duty as LPR cameras. Three of them are PTZ cameras. Only one of the PTZ's in the front of the house is setup to do tracking. Another in the front of the house and the back of the house that allow me to zoom in on something interesting such as overnight campers and other goings on that need looking into. :p The others cover the 4 sides of the house. Here is a picture of the setup on my TV which is now outdated, but it gives you and idea.Cameras on TV.JPG.

How did you get the cameras to the TV, that's pretty neat.

I have 13 active, 1 wireless, 12 POE all running on BI on an ESXi VM. The trick about enabling the substream really helped and the cpu is typically < 60%.

I have some inside cams but they are all disconnected because I'm lazy.

My favorite is my attic cam that I use to detect when the mice are coming back in for the winter. It just sits there awaiting for a trigger.

I have 5 running right now; 3 inside and 2 up front on BI. I then have another 3 running on LaView (NVR); 2 out back and the garage. I have 2 more arriving in the mail tomorrow that will go up front (Amazon.com: HIKVISION DS-2CD2087G2-L 2.8MM ColorVu 8MP 24/7 Color Outdoor Fixed Bullet Network Camera with 2.8mm Lens and Smart Supplement Light, RJ45 Connection: Home Improvement)

I second the question on how you got your cameras on your tv, pretty cool. I want to set it up so that when someone approaches the front door, it will take over whatever is being viewed on the tv and show me the live stream of the front door

I'll add my setup. Nine cameras right now at the house: 1 LPR, 2 PTZs, 1 indoor. All but one of the exterior cameras are POE.

At our cabin, we have 3 outdoor, 2 indoor.

Almost all exterior cameras are Dahua, one is an older Amcrest bullet.

How many of us here have more older cameras sitting in a box than we have cameras on the house LOL.

I try to put an older camera to a new place when I upgrade, but some older cameras just don't cut it, so I then buy another LOL.

If you look behind the speaker on the left you will see a white small form computer. It is hooked up to my LAN and the video output is one of the television inputs. I have Hikvsion IVMS-4200 downloaded on it so I can view my NVR's and display the video on the TV.

fun question - don't get to brag very often. One installation I built was running 346 cameras. :) Most are 1080p but some are 4k. about 10% are ptz. I built a prison system - technically I got called in after the initial installer botched it. Throughput problems. Got to implement a 10G backbone with 10 48 port smart switches. Of course this is on pure hardware servers. Interesting fact, the whole thing got shitcanned since the vendor orginally implemented Hikvision cameras and the feds decided Hikvision had to go... (I was NOT involved in camera selection! bahaha)
My own house is only 5 ext and 2 int. I integrate it with Hubitat and Alexa - so I can have Echo Show screens display any camera real time with a voice command. Using BI and Hubitat triggers I can move the cameras. I also use 2 virtual cameras so I can call up the content of sport scores and stock market using overlays from BI - that was fun! (see BI Tools forum for that discussion and instruction on How-to)

@jshimota01 - were you able to take any of the Hiks off their hands lol.
omg. the fallout was horrendous. I was lucky I was a contractor - so I got free of that mess. honestly, I dont' know what happened to the environment. I wanted to get my hands on the 10g switches and the 10G PCie cards for the servers. But that was 2 years ago. In the end I escaped with my hide and a paycheck.
