OK, how about doing a factory reset to give it the 192.168.1.108 address and start from there? Sometimes that is the least painful option.

No, trying to set it to 192.168.x.x range. All the other cams are on the 192 range. Can get into all their web gui. This ptz I can't access. Forgot the password I gave it, but can't even get a log in on 10.x.x, so was trying to set it on the 192 so I could use configtool to reset it.
Config tool can't change the IP unless you have entered the correct password. See the 3rd icon from the right upper corner in ConfigTool for help.

Yeah, was hoping to not have to climb a 20 foot tower and balance myself unscrewing 4 tiny screws while not dropping them... but I just did. Got back on its original .108 address. Now having trouble with ConfigTool initializing it. Go through setting new password and get "network error, maybe timed out."

One step forward, two steps back

Just use IE to navigate to the 108 address to initialize, you don't need the config tool.

The easiest way is to take a laptop or computer (if it has an ethernet port) or a tower and turn off wifi and connect the camera cable to the laptop (obviously you need power so if it is on a POE switch then connect a cable from the switch to the computer).

Then go into ethernet settings and manually change the IP address of the laptop to 192.168.1.100.

Then go to a browser and type in 192.168.1.108 (default IP address of Dahua cameras) and you will then access the camera.

Then change the camera to the IP address range of your home network (using the IPv4 settings), but have the last digits something not already assigned.

Then go back into ethernet settings and change the computer IP address back to what it was previously (probably DHCP)

Then replug in everything like it was and proceed from there.

Or download Dahua toolbox and run the batch config tool where you can Initialize the camera and change it's IP, but most of us do what I mentioned above as we do not like our cameras touching the internet.

If you want any help setting the IP let me know I can jump on via Teamviewer.
Thanks. Got it working finally late last night. Used the Lorex NVR remote device search. It has "modify IP address" setting in it.

New problem though. Used configtool for the ptz.
Set fps to 30, I know you guys recommend 15.
Iframe to 150, higher the better?
Bit rate to CBR 8192, CBR sub only goes to 2040.
H.264 plain, no super stuff or +.

BI Main fps shows 9/0.21 even 8/0.10. Mid 300's to 400 kbs
Sub around 30/0.20 fps, mid 200's kbs

Had 10 cams on BI. Took 4 off cause they were showing low numbers too even though 2 (E861AB) where set to 15fps and 2 (LNB9272S) to 25fps. The other 2 E861AS & LNB9272S on BI show the right 15/.050 & 25/.050 fps. Have a LNZ44P12B Ptz shows correct 30/0.50 fps. Can't set iframe to 1 on any of those cams.

All cams where originally connected to the Lorex 16ch NVR. Have them going through a YuanLey 18 port PoE switch, 16 Poe+. The NVR is also on the switch. View the nvr on one monitor and BI on another monitor.

yeah, that's where I'm at

You need to set the FPS and iframe rate as the same. The higher the iframe the worse, especially if you use Blue Iris.

The 0.20 is the KEY, which means your iframes is 5 times the FPS. This means that any object in and and out of your field of view with 5 seconds may be completely missed in Blue Iris and other VMS. 5 seconds can be along time in some field of view. That is how the Reolinks miss motion....

Main fps is 5-20, saw 30 for a while. Mainly staying in single digits for some reason. iframes 0.30's to 0.60's

sub is pretty steady 30's, finally.

Don't know why the main isn't holding at 30 fps when its set to that in the web gui

So, I set the fps to 30 and the iframes to 30 on the main and sub channel. Second sub (display) is set to 15/15 cause its fps only go to 17.

Set mine to 30FPS and it shows 30 in BI

Got the fps looking better when I turned the bit rate down 6000's. Sub is steady 30's with key of 1.
Weird thing is the main is constantly going from 14 to as high as 143 fps. Don't know if it has something to do with the switch too. Only have two 4mp Ptz's and two 4k bullets. When I had the other six 4k bullets on BI that's when the fps would stay in the single digits. A few of the other bullets would also stay in the single digit fps too.

Since you have the same cam, was wondering if you could give me some settings for the auto track. Finnly got it working since i was able to log into the web gui, but its tracking terrible. Zooms out while tracking and then just wanders off the subject.

My settings would not work for your location and I always only use 1 Preset with a tripwire and set the tracking time to 30 seconds with a maximum 35 on Tracking Size or it starts to loose tracking.

Well just figured out how to use the trip wire. Tracked pretty good for only for 13 sec. How do you get it to record longer? Also, doesn't zoom in while its tracking. Actually, zooms out.

Make sure you use IE ( Internet Explorer ) and do any setup in the camera's Web GUI or it won't save your settings in other browsers. If it stopped tracking before your tracking time setup then I reckon you have the tracking size set to high especially how you said it zooms out. Every location is a different setup. Don't forget tracking won't be perfect all the time every time it also depends on what your FPS and Bitrate is set @ also.

This takes trial and error. It may several tweaks to get dialed in.

Will do. What setting is for the tracking size?
