What’s a inspector?

I upgraded my service in my house when we moved in 13 years ago. I just pulled the meter and got on with it.

I also essentially doubled the size of my house several years back. I added a garage, then above that I built our master bedroom. We added 2 extra bathrooms too.
I never pulled a permit. I was actually surprised on that one that I never got visited by our township.

No far from it.

During the “lockdowns” where our dictator declared that everything had to be shut down and we lowly peasant’s couldn’t shop in garden centers, or buy flooring and the like at the home improvement store.
I decided it was a great. time to do a main floor and kitchen remodel in our house. I know a bunch of contractors who couldn’t work and were laid off due to our bitches edicts. So they worked for very cheap.

Everyone in my neighborhood knew what was going on. And one of our township trustees lives just down the road from me.

I live in a very conservative area. The rules here are mind your own business, and don’t bother others.

What?? No Karens??

My closest neighbor is a Karen and has our township supervisor on speed dial.
Last time the supervisor talked to me he told my neighbor that he doesn’t belong in the country and he needs to move to a condo association with a thick rule book.
He told neighbor Karen that you live in the country. And in the country there is livestock. And in the country your neighbors don’t have time to mow their yard every day, and then whenfinished mowing to wash their mower, and on saturdays the mower gets waxed. He told him that people have actual lives out here

Last I heard he is threatening to move

I hate seeing feeders ran in exposed PVC.
How about exposed feeders? A couple of years after moving into my house I discovered the 100 amp feed to the shop, covered with about 5" of dirt, had a 4-inch separation between two sections of the PVC pipe. Tiller gouges on the pipe, too.

I seen a tower site where they had a 1.5" white PVC running from the pole, then a 2" going inside the
building, so they took an old license plate and wrapped it around the "splice" and put it in service.
At least it was underground cable.

Pretty dangerous... Code has changed a lot but I've even seen wires fry in a PVC pipe done right. Over time everything underground in PVC will get damaged. With the ground moving and water getting into conduit it doesnt take much...

I remembered I have a picture of the open PVC pipe with the 100 amp feeder in it. I obviously exaggerated the length of the pipe separation. The gap in the small white PVC is to repair a broken irrigation pipe which is why I dug this up in the first place. Naturally the water and mud from the irrigation break flowed into the open electrical PVC. Professional electric install followed by professional landscapers who put the grass in. Offhand, I think code requires 18" of fill over the electrical PVC.
