I will say this Wildcat_1, you do look thinner with the Dahua 5849-A180 / Color4K-B180. :p
Hahahah you know they always say the camera adds 15 pounds :) This is the athletic Wildcat that you don't usually see but it takes a lot of work @Parley :)

Take a look at the full res pics I will post below for @digger11. Since YouTube conforms to standard sizes, uploaded videos are confirmed to 4K resolution, however the pics I've pulled from the original are in full blown 4096 x 1800 (native res of camera). Unfortunately cannot keep these in .tiff for upload here so did have to convert to JPG so expect some further quality loss on the images there. Again, all, these are straight from the video stream, NOT separate pics. HTH

Thanks for the pics. I have to say there's quite a bit more distortion than I was expecting.
I've placed an order for 2 of the turrets with Andy. I intend on using them to replace a couple of existing cameras where they ought to fill in some current blind spots, and then use one of the cameras I take down to replace an old 2mp Hikvision camera, and the other to add some additional coverage at the front of the house.
I'm curious to see what the nighttime images look like. I'm wondering how one of the 180's would work as an overview camera mounted on a pole about 15' from the private road that runs in front of our house. It would have an unobstructed view for about 100 yds in each direction on the only road access in and out of our small development.

It would probably look something like this.

Yes these type of cams are great as overviews and even better for utilization in overwatch/spotter setups where you use this cam along with PTZ activation to call a PTZ in your deployment to a given preset. Wider the coverage of this cam, more options to call to differing presets within the same wide FOV more precisely.

Hopefully they are not trying to do too much with this camera and turn it into the 8MP IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV TIOC that underperforms...
I'm definitely not an advocate for the TIOC series at all, so hopefully they will leave the A180 alone :)

Couple of quick things from me:

1) I'm currently editing the night footage and will be taking a break for the Thanksgiving holiday. I'll continue this early next week and aim to get out then for everyone. This is a lot more footage as always so takes a little longer
2) My plan is to add the Turret footage as a separate video after I've completed the night video, that way everyone can see how the Turret performs vs the Bullet cam version too
3) For those that have reached out, haven't forgotten about you and will reply in order. Have about 30+ messages in the past few days and am working on moving through them and others ASAP
4) Hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving has a happy, healthy and safe holiday !

If they keep the camera with good specs, blue flashing lights and a siren is excellent to trigger when the camera is being tampered with. Particularly because these cameras cannot be mounted very high.

Do you have a TIOC? I do and the red and blue flashing lights are a gimmick and can only be see if the person is looking directly at the camera! I was hoping it would look like a police car lights reflecting off of everything and it does squat.

And we have enough evidence here that lights coming on are not a deterrent. Audio stands a much better chance.

I installed one of these under my PTZ and its loud. 2 way if you buy the loud speaker with the mic. It’s about $150. Or just add a mic to the HSA-8

This would be a nice capability. But personally never figured out how to set up spotter cam’s for my PTZ:banghead:

It’s pretty easy.

I can help you if you’re running a Dahua NVR, others here can if you are running BI
I’m running BI. Some here tried to help several months ago. I never could get it to work proper.

All, hope everyone had a great holiday for those in the U.S. As promised I've re-visited the night testing edit starting today. My goal is to have this complete and ready no later than Wednesday. I will then chase that with capturing some footage of the Turret version and get that up as well albeit that will be a shorter video as most content should be the same as the Bullet cam version.
