Hello all, I am experiencing a problem that I have not had any success in resolving. I have three, 5MP IP POE dome cameras that for the most part, I am very happy with. I got these from Amazon I am having an issue that happens sometimes overnight (not every night, every other night to every third night). What happens is I loose IR capability. I have gone outside and looked at the camera and I can see the red IR LEDs, but I do not have the video lit up on the screen; it is as if the IR LEDs are out (I can just make out a few details on the screen, so I have not lost the video feed). I have tried resetting the camera, both through BI and through the camera’s web interface without success. If I power off / on (unplug to reboot) the camera, that will bring the IR night vision back. I have two cameras powered by a 4-port POE switch and the third one powered by a POE inserter. I have accessed the camera through the web interface and the night vision is lost there as well. So at this point it would seem that this is a camera issue, but I find it hard to believe all three new cameras would be experiencing the same issue and for there not to be a FW update to correct this issue.
One potential issue is I have the cameras configured in BI as Generic / ONVIF *RTSP H.264/H.265/MJPEG/MPEG4. This is what BI came up with as this is what BI thought the camera type was. I tried to configure them as JideTech, but the only options were either H.265 or P14A-4X-5MPW and neither option worked at all (loss of video).
I have tried to see if JideTech had any newer software, but I did not see anything other than a how to install the camera guide. I have one other similar camera also configured as Generic/ONVIF *RTSP H.264/H.265/MJPG/MPEG4 and it seems to work fine. The information on it is as follows:
Kernel Version Linux 3.18.30 #20 PREEMPT Wed Jan 15 12:27:54 CST 2020 armv7l
Firmware Version MC500L_IR_c0_AF_V0_BU_SMW-RTMP-GB-DH-H5 V3.0.4.1 build 2021-03-27 14:52:37
Web Version 2020-07-02 10:35:32
So is there anyone out there that has any ideas as to what might be the issue? I have done some research both here and on the web, but have not found anything that seem to reflect my problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.
