I used to be a regular Bud and micro brew beer drinker.

After Bud went openly Woke I stopped drinking it. Then I started going down the rabbit hole of all InBev products……. I was blown away. I decided on PBR, but I just can’t like it.
Then I started doing research on the local micro breweries that I like. They are just as woke or even more woke than AB.

Bud Lite opened my eyes and essentially made me quit drinking beer.
Now my drink of choice is Redneck Riviera Whisky from Bob Rich from Big and Rich. I finally got my local party store to keep it in stock and I started turning more and more locals onto a non woke alcohol.

Don't recall if I've said it here or not, but do a blind taste test of lagers, especially "light" beers. I can't taste any difference generally speaking. I enjoy light lagers after mowing the lawn on a hot day, or any time I should be drinking water but want alcohol in it. "Light" just means less alcohol. You'd probably be better off just buying a non-light beer and adding water if you don't want so much beer in your beer. Take a swig of Budweiser, then refill with water, and you've now got a Bud Lite.

I generally drink Rainier, mostly because I've climbed that mountain a few times. Tastes the same as any light lager.

Funny thing is that I never bought Budweiser until now, because it was more expensive than other lagers. There was a 30 pack for $10, so I bought it for the first time. Thing is, they haven't found a new customer, because once prices go back up, I'll be back to Rainier or whatever else is on sale.

All that said, I mostly drink micro IPAs. They cost more because they have more alcohol in it (higher cost of ingredients), and use an ale yeast instead of lager. Lager yeast tolerates higher temperatures, meaning the fermentation requires less cooling, meaning you can spend less on energy to brew it.

Also .. and I find this a challenge on the rabbit hole twists and turns ..

SOME brands AB InBev has rights to Globally, others in some Nation States, some regions ..

For example:
Corona .. InBev has rights globally except USA ...

I used to brew my own before it was cool. I started almost 20 years ago. My wife bought me a beginners kit the first year we were married.

Being newlyweds at the time with no money, and me being the type that is always looking to make things better I learned a ton of skills. It wasn’t too long before I made a fully automated all grain system. I taught myself how to weld, solder, really expanded my electrical knowledge. All very valuable life skills that have been very beneficial for my future caree.

Then we had kids….. Between needing space, and no time to brew any longer I had to sell everything. Now with life still busy it is easier to just go to the party store and buy what I want.

Some day I’d like to get into making my own fuel to use in my truck and tractors though.

All this talk of beer got me wondering how many calories are in a typical drink.

A typical 12oz lager is about 150 calories, and a light beer is 100.
A shot of 80 proof alcohol is almost 100 calories.

I always thought there were only 3 forms of calories; lipids (fat), carbohydrates, and sugar.

Fat has 9 calories per gram, and carbs and protein have 4. Alcohol has 7

So alcohol has almost as much energy in it as fat.

None of this has anything to do with liberal hypocrisy.

I started brewing my senior year of high school because I didn't have any friends old enough to buy beer. Went to the local homebrew supply store with my buddy, and walked out with a basic kit and equipment.

I'd skip church, leaving about 2 hours for me to frantically clean all the equipment, brew, cool, and pitch yeast. Used a kit so that saved a ton of time. Then I'd hide the brew in the attic, and bottle a few weeks later. Parents never found out.

Funny how you can't sell beer to minors, but you can sell them everything to make 5 gallons of beer themselves.
