I am very confused by the decoding specs on the DS-7608NI-E2 NVR. Can 8 cameras be viewed simultaneously at 1080P? What is the maximum numbers that can be played back at 1080P simultaneously? Can 8 cameras record at 3mp simultaneously and if you had a monitor that supported 3mp resolution, would the nvr support playback at 3mp?
Thanks for the help.

As i understand it the second column is for the DS-7608NI-E2 (first column DS-7604 third column DS-7616 the rest maybe POE)

Then the NVR can handle 6 chanel @1080p

There is no point in playing back 8 channels in 1080p. The monitor cannot support that resolution for the cams when they are in a matrix.

Can the DS-7608NI-E2 Record 8 cameras simultaneously at 5mp recording 24/7? Can it playback just one channel at 5mp if I have a monitor that supports it?

The unit is limited by bitrate not resolution. I think you are missing the point with highres cameras. You dont need a monitor to display that high resolution, the benefit comes when zooming in after the fact.

Am I correct to say that if I have eight 3mp ip cameras recording at the highest bitrate of 8096 x 8 = 64768? Is this 64Mbps and would the DS-7608NI-ES not be able to keep up at these settings?

Yes, that is correct. Provided the 50Mbps is the correct max value for the specific firmware. I have a recollection that the value was raised on a later firmware release but don't recall the details.
