Hi all,
I have a camera powered with PoE that I use only with Hik-Connect application.

After a series of access with Hik-Connect, it can happen that camera reset. I found in the logs Abnormal Shutdown record.

If I try to access it with browser, I don't have problems. This only happen randomly when I use Hik-Connect app

My configuration is:
  • Camera: DS-2CD2146G2-ISU (2,8 mm) (C)
  • Firmware: V5.7.13 build 230706
  • Hik-Connect app version: 6.0.109.1026
  • PoE+ Injector 30W
I have already tried to:
  • Update firmware
  • Set encoding to H.256+ (Main stream and sub-stream)
  • Enable NTP
  • Disable DST
  • Check the Network MTU
  • Check if DNS is working correctly
Any hint to solve?

Thanks

I tried now with version: 5.4.0.0911

At the first login the camera rebooted.

Looking to logs I found again Local: Abnormal Shutdown

Anyway, I'll try to use this version to see if it is more stable.

Ok something is wrong with that camera.

Can you do a quick test for me. Add to Hikconnect locally via ip address. What happens then?

@trempa92 I have two problems to satisfy your request:
  1. The camera is shared with another account (I'm going to rollback the Hikconnect also there)
  2. Currently I'm using the DHCP and the camera hasn't static IP associated to it
I would like to monitor the situation during the weekend, and maybe try with local IP in case of further problems.

So far, after the first logon, I haven't had any reset (fingers crossed)

I have tested the rollback for the entire weekend. No further camera reboot.

This means that problem has been generated by the new version of Hikconnect app.

I have tested on Android. I don't know if there's a similar problem also on iPhone

A little bit too late, I had a talk with Hikvision today, and it's (again) a firmware issue, if you need to update Hikconnect or someone else is having this issue, the kit has a "special" firmware update that depends on the chipset of the device, but it solves the issue.

Hi, I recently started seeing this shutdown on my hikvision NVR. It's much simpler to resolve than you think. It's basically a failure of the external power unit, so replacing that resolves the issue. A couple simple checks confirmed this for me. There is obviously some sort of safety switching mechanism in those packs that trips randomly. When you turn the power off at the power point or unplug it from the wall, the internal switch is reset and the NVR starts up again, until next time the power unit trips.
Hope that helps!
