I am pretty sure I know the answer to this, but... Is there any way to operate the web UI of this camera with a Mac and no Windows available? I know some people who would like to have one for casual use, like looking at bird feeders... But they are Mac users, with no Windows available... and not being techies they'd have no interest in installing Bootcamp either.

Used windows laptops are cheap as dirt, or maybe you could use an android powered tablet, those are cheap also, not sure about doing the config on a android device though?

Are there not any iphone cam aps that could interface with this cam?

A friend with a windows laptop could come over and help with the setup to get it going?

Not a mac or iphone guy myself so....

I can set it up for them, but if you need outside help every time you want to change exposure settings... Meh. You know how it is, you fiddle with things a lot at first. There are phone apps but I believe that they only offer basic control and no access to the image/exposure settings.

Getting Windows is not a problem, but these are not computer hobbyists. Things we take for granted like, well, using Windows would be a huge hassle. So, they may just be out of luck for another 10 years or so, at which time Chinese camera factories may stop making software with pirated copies of Windows XP. :)

If they are not computer hobbyists then they should stick with the products designed for mac, otherwise they will most likely will be frustrated with the experience.

Any iPhone or Android app should detect the camera

Guys having a little issue with my ptz, it seems when I'm using the bottom ir"s I get a white ring on the footage but when zoomed in a bit using top ir"s it goes away, do you think the street lights making it do this?

I just ordered one of these from the seller in your first post, marked shipped yesterday. Excited to see how it in action, picture quality looks very nice and the 10x zoom is a big plus. Looks to be of good value.

top/bottom IRs are toggled based on the distance, you can customize it via Preset 95 menu when to kick in either one at what zoom level

i want to thank everyone for all the info in this thread. I do have a newbie question if someone could help me out. I have this NVR LaView LV-KN988P84A4 which i understand is ONVIF compatible. So it looks like this camera would work on system. But my question would be about the poe aspect of it. I am going to assume that my nvr will not put out enough power to power it. What is the best choice to power it ? so many different choices out there i just would be unsure on the best solution .

I had this message this morning;

This is the response I got from him last week;

sorry
We need to replace the lens is a very complex and cumbersome process, a very long time

Doesn't sound promising.

Replace lens where? In their production line or in our cams?

Mine seems to be flaking out. Sometimes cars going by will ghost and then the very next recording, just minutes apart, the motion will be fine.
