I’ve got an HIK vision NVR with dome cameras. I’m trying to swap one of the domes for a HIK turret. The NVR is not connecting to the turret. All I did was unplug the dome and plug in the turret same Poe cable. The “plug and play” setting assigned an ip to new camera but still says not connected. I’ve restarted the nvr, I’ve unplugged/plugged in the ethernet cable. I did a swap previously with a dome for a dome and the nvr recognized the camera easily. What’s different? What do I do to get the turret working? Thanks

Are you sure that's not just the IP address that the (unspecified) NVR channel is set to expect the camera to be on?

I’m trying to swap one of the domes for a HIK turret.
Was the new (unspecified) camera in the 'Inactive' state that is needed to be able to be 'Activated' when connected to a Plug&Play PoE port?
If not - depending on the model - open the hatch where the SD card is, unplug the camera, press and hold the reset button next to the SD card, re-connect the camera and hold the reset button down for about 40-50 seconds, to reset the camera back to 'Inactive'.
The NVR should 'Activate' the camera and connect it.

Suggestion :
Connect a PC to an unused NVR PoE port, and use SADP to show the status of all the connected devices.
Check if the IP address for the new turret camera matches the IP address that the NVR PoE channel expects to find it on.
