AMP Security door to door fail.. this guy found a quick way to the unemployment line.

I told them I would never disclose too, nor purchase any security services from; anyone whom rang my doorbell, I then suggested they try a better marketing strategy, then shut the door. Glad I reviewed the footage after.

If anyone comes to your house and tries to ask you about your security system, tell them where to stick it.. these guys use social engineering to trick you to reveal details about your security, or lack of, in a few moments before you even realize it.. legit company or not, this is a shameful practice and speaks volumes of the company that thinks this is a wise way to do business in the industry.

notice how they were discussing my no trespassing sign before I even opened the door and cover badges and present a 'honeywell' logo on shoulder first to the door instead of whats on the center of your chest.. sales pricks through and through.

I find these people disgusting, going around and asking if people are interested in a free security system is right up there with nigerian princes needing help with an inheritance.. legit company my ass.. if your legit you dont resort to phishing, especially in the security industry.. your supposed to teach your customers NOT to buy this shit.. I suspect if there ever is a legit nigerian prince who needs help with his inheritance he is totally fucked, as should be this method of of alarm system sales.

They are not on the Honeywell payroll, I doubt they are even on AMP's payroll.. honeywell is hardware maker, this is is a fake security person.. its like a guy at best buy saying he works for sony.

ps: amp security if your reading this.. your a joke, lol i pity your customers, you have the theatre down thats for sure.. the security part is severely lacking.. im supposed to trust these clowns to keep me safe? hahaha haha ha

I get alot of energy companies/window companies do this to us...I usually say 'i'm not the homeowner' then they leave me alone since i can't buy anything, and seems nicer than just saying no.

agreed, those guys dont bother me much.. they dont go around asking everyone in the neighborhood about there security systems durring dinner time.

these two clowns, well.. I was as nice as could be expected, the language was being filtered as it came out my mouth.. was alot more obscene in my head :)
I was like, you did your speech.. I'll do mine, then were done.. close door.

this same company I have told to buzz off numerous times, there reps are VERY aggressive, was not surprised at all to hear him be a big man when the door was closed.

very much loving all my new Dahua's, this season is gona be fun.

nope, have not had one my adult life.. think he was a bit jelous, seems how that always goes.. bet he had long hair before his life went so far off track he had to resort to door to door sales to scrape by.. I'd be bitter and angry too in his shoes.

having done door to door sales my self, for a week as a teenager... I know how miserable it is and I try to have empathy, but I am pretty apathetic to this company.

so my friends waged a campaign against AMP on facebook, I am not on facebook and didn't really care too much as once this stuff is public domain its out of my hands what other people do with it.

however, my wife posted she'd like an apology so they PM'd my wife said the guy had only been on the job 2 days and has been terminated... and apologized profusely.

I almost feel bad, almost.. but he got what he deserved.. I've been denied employment with the exact same thing said to my face.. so yeah Karma is a bitch.

You must live on one of the poles for it to be that bright out at 10:54 PM ;-)
Must be really dim where you live, because it says 06:10:54 PM ;-)

Mail me a flyer, or leave something on my door.. dont send a person to probe my security involuntarily, thats insulting..

Background check these guys all you want, paying someone minimum to go around and sell cheap junk at inflated prices is not going to attract the kind of employees I would hire to install security.. All that means is the crook you hired is good enough not to get caught, or simply passes the information onto 3rd parties who assume the majority of the risk.

Its amazing what information you can socially engineer out of people, especially when your wearing a uniform.. Sales people do it for a freaking living, so dont send those sleazy bastards to my house and expect a warm welcome.

I say do it back to them, if you have a security installer come over.. ask for photo ID and take a pic with your phone before letting them onto the jobsite, if they are real pro's they have to do this for all corporate accounts.. so they wont even flinch.. if they are amateurs or shady ppl they will resist, then just tell em to leave and dont take any risks for a 'good deal'

One of the oldest scams in the book, so old literally one of the first popular movies featured this scam, see Charlie Chaplin: The Kid - 1921

summary: Window Maker adopts orphan street urchin to break windows, then happens to show up with a fresh piece of glass to install after the owner chases the kid off.

Thats exactly what I think of with door to door security sales, go find all the people without security systems... give them your card and say, contact me if you need anything.. then send in some burglars a few weeks/months later to shake em up... immediately interested in an alarm system.

I suspect they been doing variations of this scheme since the beginning of civilization.. always fresh suckers out there.

Does the Dahua have auto tracking, or is someone else driving the PTZ while your at the door? Or are you just THAT fast? Assuming it's manually controlled, how are you manipulating it? With a joystick controller? Seemed very precise and smooth. I have to use cursors with my Sunba, and it really looks amateur-ish compared to how your moved.

ETA - never mind... I followed the link you posted up above, and just read through 5+ pages to see how you automated your home. No need to expand on that....

that video was a mix actually..

before they knocked on the door that was me using SmartPSS on dedicated display, just clicked and it moved.. I had seen them on my other cameras and was waiting for em.

once I got up my home automation system took over, when the front door opened it told the camera to go to a wide angle preset and then when I closed it it waited a few seconds and then told it to go back to the normal idle position (driveway).. I have countless physical sensors on my property that are capable of commanding either of my 2 PTZ's to look at the area... mailbox, parcel box, gates, doors, windows, other camera's line cross/intrusion detection, and even a few outdoor motion sensors.

Nice. I had the Johovah witness people sing to me one saturday morning, a couple of years ago. Now they always stop and ask for the man of the house, but im always working on saturday morning. My wife tells them to get lost then calls me to yell at me.

I love guys like this i usually open the door with the dog next to me but give her the be really LOUD command so when they start talking they have to try and talk over the dog. Most don't bother and say have a good day.

When I'm feeling frisky I open the door with my holstered weapon showing LOL the normal response is he has security covered have a nice day
