Is an i5-3470 too old for BI?

My main cam is the Dahua IPC-T5442TM-AS . Should I have the cam do the motion triggers (I use line crossing) or set up Blue Iris to do the triggers?

Is an i5-3470 too old for BI?

Thanks to all for your responses. I'm glad I'm good to move forward with a Blue Iris purchase. I'll have a lot of reading to do here re the install and setup, but it should be worth the system change!

Is an i5-3470 too old for BI?

My son passed on to me his old PC. If it could run BI reliably I could move my IP cam's video off of my NAS, which would gain me needed space on that device. I've been running QNAP's QVR-Pro for the past few years. My only cost might be to add memory, I already have a purple storage HD. The PC...

Monitor for significant changes in image and send alert

Instead of a camera watching a control panel why not monitor the water temp directly with a wireless thermometer? I'm not familiar with a specific model, but here's one; many others on the market. https://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Wireless-926-251031-HT-Monitor-Accessory/dp/B0081URKJU

    Review-OEM 4mp AI Cam IPC-T5442TM-AS Starlight+

Did the .10 firmware update. Big plus for me is that the cam's email notifications now work! I never could get the cam to connect to either Yahoo or Gmail's smtp servers prior to this update. Big negative: Cam's pw field will not accept a Win paste command. I have a long random pw and must...

    Review-OEM 4mp AI Cam IPC-T5442TM-AS Starlight+

After a firmware upgrade I see that it's recommended to do a camera reset. Does a restore to factory default through the cam's webpage suffice, or would I have to get on a ladder, open up the camera and then hold the reset button (next to the SD card slot) down? After that I would have to...

New Mini PTZ now with 4x zoom SD1A404XB-GNR

I'd like to get this mini ptz for my backyard, but I'm unclear as to what parts I would need to mount it. Dahua does not list a ceiling junction box model on this cam's spec sheet. DH-SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ data sheet My mounting location would be on the soffit shown here, just to the right of the...

    Review-Dahua IPC-K35A 3mp Cube Camera

Darn, I had forgotten that this is only available with a 2.8 lens. I need a POE indoor cam with an 80 deg HFOV. Otherwise I' would've purchased this.

    Review-Dahua IPC-K35A 3mp Cube Camera

Is it possible to pull the front casing off of the camera so that it would be easier to paint? The white color would make the camera really stick out when sitting on my dark wood-stained end table.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW1831C-PIR 4k Mini Bullet

Aristobrat, thanks for the info.. I downloaded exarkun's 10.0 version and my cam upgraded with no issues. After extracting the file there was a text file which did list our model camera, so I felt secure proceeding. Thanks again to both of you.

    Review-Dahua IPC-HFW1831C-PIR 4k Mini Bullet

I also would like a confirmation of the correct firmware for this camera, model # IPC-HFW1831C IPC-HX2X3X firmware listed a couple of times in this string seems odd to me as the file name does not match up in any way with our camera model number. The ending string of numbers do match up...
