    Isolating specific cameras for review

I looked around the website and couldn't find an answer to what I'm looking for. I have 22 cameras, but is there a way to isolate different cameras to review their recordings? For example, I want to review clips from 3 cameras in a specific area. I don't want to review all cameras or look at...

BI4 Pre-Trigger causing lag in recording

My iframe is 10 to match the 10 fps. Bitrate max 4096 / buffer 10 / 1080p. I tried the pre-trigger yesterday morning and checked recordings in the afternoon, and playback is laggy. If its not pc I'm guessing its the network. Can it be? I have 23 cams, 13 are hikvision and 10 are trendnet.

BI4 Pre-Trigger causing lag in recording

I setup BI4 so that the pre-trigger (in recording tab) is set to 10 because my fps is 10 (Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I). Glad it helps record things before they happen (at least that's what I think its doing), but issue is I see major lag. The playback is not smooth and stutters. Is this my network...

What do I lose with d2d over bi encoding?

I agree, Blue Iris has suited me the best, I've tried various camera manufacturers's software and not good. BI feels versatile and works best for my needs. I don't need audio, just clear image of faces, cars, and a ptz cam, so BI fit the need, especially with so many camera choices.

Awesome, thanks Fenderman. I trust your info and you sound like you know a lot :) Well glad my setup is hikvisions and BI.

Fenderman, I'm curious, what's your setup? I mean what cameras do you use. I'm interested to know which works best for you.

    BI 4 Playback issues

What's your setup and how many cameras? I have i5's and 8GB Ram for two setups, one is BI3 (all Hikvision 2xx2 and one is BI4 mix of Trendnet and Hikvision., don't get Trendnet). I kind of resolved it by deleting them and adding again. I think it helped, but once in a while I get the blank...

Blue Iris camera feed not as clear as directly going to Hikvision camera

I have various cameras, not only Hikvision, so Blue Iris was the option. BI is pretty easy to use, but I may consider ivms if one day I decide to go all Hiks. Thanks.

Blue Iris camera feed not as clear as directly going to Hikvision camera

Is it just me, but I feel like the images are not the same. I am doing D2D. The one with time stamp is screen shot from BI and the other is direct feed. Any help would be great thanks.

    New install advice needed

jschlank, I've tried several cameras, and I think the best bang for you buck is Hikvision. You can buy them on Amazon for around $110, Hikvision DS-2CD2032 (make sure to buy from US, not ship from China). They've served me well, but sometimes you need a little patience. Blue Iris is an...

Exposure Time 1/30 vs 1/60 or better?

The area is well lit. I'm trying to balance the fps and exposure time. I have 10fps at 1080p. Walking people look too blurry. I'll try play around. I set it at 1/60 and hope it'll help. 1/30 seemed blurry.

Blue Iris camera feed not as clear as directly going to Hikvision camera

I noticed that my Hikvision camera feed in Blue Iris is a little blurrier compared to looking through the camera directly. It looks much clearer in the camera than when looking through Blue Iris. Something I can do to make Blue Iris look sharp too? Sorry if this sounds confusing. I'm trying...

Exposure Time 1/30 vs 1/60 or better?

Does anyone know of which setup is the better choice regarding the Exposure Time? My camera setup deals with walking people so I want less blur and more clarity. I read about setting exposure time to 1/30 or 1/60, which is better? Or 1/90 maybe? I looked around for threads but couldn't find...

    Pixelation, Round Two

I wonder if using BI4 32 bit will resolve the pixelation/ghosting issues. Anyone want to try reinstall BI4 (32 bit)? I'm just guessing if this is a possibility, since I have the 64 bit version installed.
