Hikvision NVR: cameras doesn't work w/ the built-in PoE switch

Thank you very much. I edited the cams via Hikvision SADP to static and with a starting range of 192.168.254.2 I don't understand why it didn't work via DHCP though? No DHCP on the 192.168.254.x subnet on a Hikvision NVR? Also, I have a Dahua cam and I'm not sure what to set the DNS server to...

Hikvision NVR: cameras doesn't work w/ the built-in PoE switch

Hey, I bought a Hikvision DS-7608NI-Q2/8P NVR and I'm trying to view live footage from the cameras or use the playback function. I'm using Internet Explorer with the activex plugin. They're connected via the built-in POE switch and it's not working... On the cameras, I'm using DHCP and all the...

Got volunteered for a project, I need some advice

@awsum140 @TonyR, can you guys share a picture of a good tree cam install? I could DIY a bracket like this with a small sheet of plywood if it's for a temporary install: Aliexpress.com : Acquista Pole Mount Staffa PFA152 E, spedizione gratuita da Fornitori bracket affidabili su Empire Technology...

Got volunteered for a project, I need some advice

Something like this? TP-LINK TL-POE150S PoE Injector - Newegg.ca It's pretty expensive for what it is though =/ I don't see any PoE injectors on Andy's Aliexpress page, just a 9port PoE switch.

Got volunteered for a project, I need some advice

Hello, I got volunteered for a project so I'm looking for a few advice. I'd like to setup a hunting camera but I'm concerned about the large FoV and low light performance and it's something that hes unlikely to use again so a dahua cam would be better imho. I can't recommend him a Lorex 4cams...

Where is the option to record 24/7 in Xprotect 2017?

You're using Xprotect 2016? From your screenshot: the recording properties is the tab with the options that I can't find in Xprotect 2017. I don't want to do anything fancy with motion detection, I just want to move from motion detection to record 24/7 (always). Screensoht of what I'm looking for:

Where is the option to record 24/7 in Xprotect 2017?

Hey, I need help. My cameras are currently only recording on motion detection in Milestone Xprotect 2017. I never had any difficulty finding the recording settings (on motion detection, 24/7) in Xprotect 2016. I want to record 24/7 for X numbers of days but I can't find the options anywhere. Is...

Any idea of what might be causing this?

Yeah I moved it a little and it's much better now? Working properly now. It seems like the sofit is reflecting the light back into the camera: zoomed in it gives me: I guess that I have no other choice but to move the camera somewhere else =/ Thanks for your help, I didn't even think...

Any idea of what might be causing this?

I rotated the camera ~60 degrees and it's now covering my backward where there is no surfaces that can reflect back into the camera and I still have the same issue: I did a factory reset of my settings. Changing the strength of the IR does pretty much nothing. I verified that there is no...

Have I found a Backdoor to IP Camera Video Stream????

Hi OP, I'm not sure what router you are using but it might be fairly easy to block your camera from accessing the internet. The only thing that I miss by doing that is ntp (time server)
