Outdoor camera placement / power questions

Sure - that's my backup plan. It's a bit more work to do that, but I'd run it back to my PoE switch if I need to go that route. I was just hoping there was some clever way to take advantage of the existing 110V power / box to power the camera (and then use WiFi for the network connection).

Outdoor camera placement / power questions

Here are pics: While I could theoretically replace it with a larger box, that would practically be more work than just running Cat6 up in the corner above the door there (which you can see in the pic) ... so if there's no clever way to get power out of that box in a relatively low-key way...

Outdoor camera placement / power questions

Hi all- I've got a spot where I'd like to place a new outdoor camera. Ideally something relatively low profile, like a mini-dome camera. There happens to be an electrical junction box mounted right near where I'd like to place the camera (single gang box with a plate over it, probably was a...

    Dahua IPC-A35 with BI

I sent an email to BI support and got this back: I do apologize for the delay on this! I was able to find that this camera is in fact compatible though. If you do end up needing assistance with configuring PTZ and finding the proper settings, please put the camera online for us to test when you...

Intermittent errors capturing video clips on ios app

Hi- I've been seeing intermittent errors when I try to grab a video from the BlueIris iphone app. If I go into alerts, and then click the icon that looks like a roll of film, sometimes it captures the video correctly, and sometimes I get: Blue Iris This item is not compatible with the Photos...

FYI in case anyone is looking later - after re-installing with the standard Microsoft Win10 Pro distro and running as a service the BI installation has been rock-solid.

Blue Iris crash - memory leak?

Thanks. I'll do a clean MS Windows install. Will that (plus updates) guarantee I'm using a good enough Intel driver? Or do I still need to separately go to Intel and download/update the driver directly from them? And separate question .... what do you recommend for a dedicated BI machine as...

Blue Iris crash - memory leak?

Checked back in about 6 hours after restarting, and it looks like BI has gone from ~6GB to about 16GB memory utilization. Seems like a memory leak. Is this a known issue? Worth maybe rolling back to a more stable version? Any suggestions? Thanks....

Blue Iris crash - memory leak?

Hi- New BI user here (version 4.5.7.4). I've installed it on a brand new (refurb) Dell Optiplex 7040 Win10 Pro (i7-6700, 16GB, 256GB SSD). Currently I'm just using some space on the SSD drive for video storage (direct to disk), but eventually plan on adding a purple drive in for clip storage...

    BI storage question

Great - thanks for the tips. I'm liking the flexibility with BI ... much better than the Synology NAS I've been using until now....

    BI storage question

Got it. So if I cloned the camera, then I would basically have both the continuous recordings *and* the clips stored for the first "N" days, and then the continuous recordings would be deleted, leaving just the motion clips. That might be a reasonable workaround. Does cloning a camera cause...

    BI storage question

Hi- I'm setting up a new system, and I'm new to BI. Question about managing storage. It seems like it would be nice if there was a way to do the following: 1) Store continuous recording for "N" days 2) After "N" days, store only motion clips (either for "X" days, or maybe until disk is "Y" %...
