I've got BI setup with OpenVPN having followed a guide on here I believe.
However when using a tool recently it was showing that a camera has several open ports,notably port 80. When I type that into a web browser I get the login page for the manufacturer of the camera.
I've chased my tail...
I didn't realise there was a wiki, that was a great link.
If I'm honest I was looking for an excuse to upgrade my main PC under the guise of donating the parts to the CCTV system, but it looks like Intel is the way ahead. I've taken the wiki advice (and comments above) and ordered a manufacturer...
Thanks for the reply - that's good to know. I'm going to build a separate server once I know what minimum specs I need so I'll add Net Time then.
On the 'phoning home,' front - I've had a quick look through but can't see anything really obvious. Mobile streaming tick box is checked, other than...
I've recently set up a small system using a PC with BI, and my first camera is an IPC-HDBW4631R-ZS (picked up for £60 through a Warehouse Deal.) I'm pretty happy with it, it covers an area that I'm most interested in motion detection both during the day and at night time.
I'd like to add a...
I've got BI running and remote access when not connected via WAN set up with OpenVPN - which my router supports. I just wanted to double check that I've got the settings correct so that I'm not using port forwarding (which given the security concerns I'd rather avoid.)
In Settings->Web server...
I've got this all set up now and connected to Blue Iris - but I can only stream to my phone with BI or gDMSS Plus app when connected to the same WAN. It doesn't seem to work over mobile data. Webcasting is enabled, is there something else I need to do?
No worries.
I bit the bullet. Needn't have worried, it was easy to hard reset and I'm now into the camera. This is probably a naive question but should I be able to rotate the view remotely, or is it just by hand (with motorised zoom?)
I've just had a thought - this was a potentially used item (Amazon Warehouse deal) so could potentially have someone elses setup on. I suppose I'll have to get the screwdriver out.
Firstly, apologies in advance - I'm trying to setup my first IP camera and I'm a bit out of my depth.
I've got the camera connected, ConfigTool 4.05 & SmartPSS both recognise it. But I can't get it to accept any admin/password I've tried.
I did initially (prior to installing SmartPSS) try...
