I just installed the FW from link above on my EmpireTech HDW5241H-AS-PV, it at least starts up and seemingly works like normal. Not the new interface which is probably good, since I'd expect it to take at least 12 months to be stable given how many updates and back-and-forth "AI" detection of...
Setting up a multi-site VPN requires technical knowledge. If you don't have that yourself, you should seriously consider hiring someone to do it for you to avoid future problems. The setup depends on a number of things, such as where and how your cameras are connected to a network. If you want...
Re 2, exposing the camera to the internet is a very bad idea, sooner or later someone will be able to connect to it and view the streams. Perhaps even change the settings, or reach the internal network it’s connected to. Do not do this.
Have your camera connected on a private internal network...
I read somewhere here that P is for PAL and N for NTSC. The same post claimed this didn’t matter for IP cameras. My guess is that PN is default PAL and NP is default NTSC, which would make sense if you have a coax system hooked up to monitors I guess. Someone probably has a better answer. I’ve...
Check out the script that @johnnyletrois wrote: johnnyletrois/dahua-watch
I do exactly what you’re after but using Synology Surveillance Station as the trigger, since it natively supports some IVS events these days, that then uses Domoticz to turn the floodlight on.
My old version that watched...
Looks like Dahua now has a proper public product page for this camera, along with the latest firmware: IPC-HDW5241H-ASE-PV
Has anyone tried the latest firmware DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.0.R.201114? I noticed the version number got bumped from V2.800 (that came in...
Thank you. Here you go: AblazeWoland/dahua-toggle-ivs
Would you mind providing the link to Facebook, if you post there? I'd love to see where this ends up. Please encourage people to pull and improve. The scripts are very basic and should be merged into one, I'll do that as soon as I care to...
@genelit @Fenst still interested in the script? A ton of things, like actual work, came in between so I haven’t had the opportunity to upload to GitHub. Can do if you’re still interested.
Have you wired it directly to Alarm Out without an external PSU as described on DahuaWiki? I was hoping to do that too but thought it wasn’t possible and got discouraged by the extra wiring needed.
Edit: this was my original thread on the topic Connect external siren to camera, PSU needed?
Yeah, I know. Bummer.
I did a workaround and made a Python script where you can specify the names of IVS rules you want the script to enable/disable. I use the script with the Domoticz home automation platform, so I can turn an arbitrary number of IVS rules on or off with the click of a button...
There should perhaps be a sticky on what version level camera (and NVR) firmwares stop needing a plugin. The latest firmwares for both my low-end HDW1230S as well as my newer T5241H-AS-PV doesn’t require the plugin. The original firmware for 1230S did. Now you just use Google Chrome and...
