  • Hello Andy, Hope you are well. I was wondering if you have hikvision DS-2CD2055FWD-I 5mp for sale? Do you sell hikvision NVR's by any chance, I was thinking about pairing the cameras with hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P.
Andy, I have the 5442E-Z4E. If this new firmware improves camera function, please send me the link for the newest firmware.
I also have a 5442E-AS, and an ASE
HI, Andy. I was looking for an auto tracking ptz camera that I can use outdoors with motion detection alerts. Can you give me some suggestions on which cameras I should get? I am using it to cover my driveway which is about 70 ft.

Also I was trying to get a ptz camera that can read a license plate easily 70 ft away.

Are there any you would recommend that are just the dome/turret style? I'd like one under an eve and i think the pendant style would not work (the wife would say heck no!)

subject: open platforms vrs closed ones

Looking to buy my first NVR and set of cameras, for home security type usage.

I'm actually a software engineer and can sort through the various product features but one area I could use some advice onis which systems are more 'opensource' vrs closed platforms?

Simply put, I do a bunch of work under linux and would love to buy something which allows me to talk to the NVR and other parts, either via a well established REST API, or RPC, or what not.

Simply put which systems would you avoid, which are closed and which are good at truly being open platforms?
Hi Andy, in your opinion what is the best sub $150 camera for low light environments for capturing cars/people at a distance of 20 to 30 feet away? They will be mounted outdoors about 12 feet high. There are so many models its confusing, so im asking your help, thank you.
    Hello Andy,

I'm looking to buy my first IP Cam. After long reading on the internet and on this forum, I've decided on the IPC-T2431T-AS to begin with, with a 3,6mm focal.
I've read that you are an excellent seller of this brand; do you have a quote and avalaibility for shipping to France?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sylvain
    Hi Andy,
Looking at getting a SD49225XA-HNR for its AutoTracking but am unsure if it works or not. I will be using it with BlueIris and reading the review thread for the camera at Review - Dahua SD49225XA-HNR 2MP 25x Starlight + IR PTZ AI Camera with Deep IVS & SMD Plus Wildcat_1 says that you need to have IE open with the GUI going for the AI Live tracking to work. Is this true and the Auto Tracking will not work when the camera is used with BlueIris ?

I have had a SD49225T-HN for a couple of years (that I got from you) and it works great. If the same camera had Auto Tracking of people i'd be happy to buy one.

Is it possible that the camera I have already could be firmware upgraded and support Auto Tracking of people ?
The new one is for a different site, but I'd like to be able to upgrade my one if it is possible.
    Thanks, Col.

I will be getting 2 more cameras very soon, probably one the same and one of the 4MP 49425XB-HNR ones. OK, no problem, let me know when ready.
Also I was looking for a PTZ that has wifi and builtin microphone. Something like the 29204UE-GN but with wifi. Do you sell anything like that, or an outdoor version instead ? Outdoor use SD1A203T-GN-W , this one is waterproof one.

    Hi Andy

I'm looking to upgrade my existing outdoor camera setup (7 x LongSe POE 4MP - nice picture in daylight but not very good at night, even with IR illuminators). I'd be grateful for your recommendation for replacement cameras as indicated below, along with the cost and shipping to the UK (including import duty/VAT if appropriate).

[I've read the notes and the many reviews!]

    General
    • at least 4 MegaPixels
    • "starlight" or equivalent low light sensor (1/1.8")
    • all POE connected
    • all connected to a Blueiris system
    • location in the UK

Top of the house (under the eaves) - bullet or turret cameras
    • 2 x 3.6mm or 2 x 2.8-12mm varifocal + junction box (conduit connection)
    • 1 x 6mm or 1 x 2.8-12mm varifocal + junction box (conduit connection)
(I currently have bullets because they are more of a visible deterrent but could live with turrets.)

    Lower-level - turret cameras
    • 3 x 6mm + wall mount (rear connection)
    • 1 x 3.6mm + wall mount (rear connection)

    Thanks very much ...

    Hi Andy,

Not new to site but new to larger installs, So I used to get cams from a guy local to me here in PA, he closed down and I have been getting some requests for cams with some of the local bars/other's around me most of my other installs have been at peoples homes. This current client is being picky and does not like what I have shown him so I figured I reach out to you.

What cams do you have that are PTZ with POE or do you have a site that lists what you have for ease of view.

    Thanks much stay safe.
Hi Andy, I'm looking to get a good 2nd front yard camera. I recently bought a IPC-HDW5231R-ZE IP Camera 2MP Starlight WDR IR Eyeball Starlight at amazon and fell in love with it the moment I set it up and now I'm looking to get a 2nd one to cover the rest of the front home. I'm looking for something a bit cheaper that's at least a little under 120$USD price range and was thinking about the IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS Starlight Camera-Varifocal. Is there any deals I can get for this?
    E

Oh nice, I completely missed the section about the change in models. I'm completely new to this site but is there a difference in where I make my purchase from? Last time I just blindly went with amazon prices for my first camera purchase and found out later that I could get it cheaper here so was just wondering where I can get a better deal on them.

Aha, no big differece, but new one is better :D
Hi Andy Purchased a few HDW 5831R-ZE and a 5231 from you. They work perfectly. I downloaded what I thought was a newer version of Dahua Config Tool. Seems it was the same one and all it did was knock out my passwords. I still have cameras up and running just cannot acess them through Config Tool. Do you know of a way to reset the passwords?I can try reset button, just dont know if that is an option. have 3 cameras to a generic 8P switch to router to Synology 718 + . If it is not a simple answer I`ll try the forum but they tend to get technical . Regards Thomas
G'day Andy, looking into the IPC-HDW3541T-ZAS cam. Can I please get a price including postage on this cam to postcode 3216 in Australia please.
Hi Andy! Received your COVID19 package, bit later than anticipated, but we will enjoy it! Thanks you for sharing! We indeed are under the same sky, even from the other side of the world. Keep up the good work!
