...a replacement for my IVS-deprived NVR42A04-P. Fan noise is top priority so any fan in addition to the case fan is a no-no -- not even a Noctua will convince me. Got 4 cams for now (2 interior Amcrest and 2 exterior 5231s) but probably will be adding a couple more in the near future including...
...doing. I took the case off, took the case fan out. The little bracket I had to drill the holes a bit larger to get the bigger screws for the noctua to fit. I put it in the spot, screwed it in, and then realized the clip didn't clip on the original white piece. Feel free to pm me any...
I did this to the exact NVR you have a few months back and it was a life saver! The one in the power supply is the easy one. The other one you have to make sure the right colors go together. I can get you all the right information of you don’t have it figured out by the end of next week (away...
...clips having a narrower female channel on the top grooves. Do you just clip these grooves off or do you splice the old fans connector onto the noctua fan?
Last question, is the replacement power supply that was previously linked compatible with NVR8CH-8P-2AI. I think it might just be easier...
Inexpensive switches such as the one you linked, can be problematic. The power supplies in them are not very robust. Some will have trouble booting up while under load.
A switch is the last place you want to cut corners, if you want your cameras to be reliable.
Stick with Netgear Prosafe or...
This switch at $38. (8 ports, 120w, 100Mbps uplink) looks interesting https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0899NR75K/
I'd add a little noctua fan (efficient and really quiet) to vent the power supply heat.

So far so good. Only issue is 4 of the 14 internal hard drives are running a little warm. I’ll relocate them inside the case.
I have 32 cameras running of 48 planned total. The processor is only showing 3-4% usage. If the processor starts to get warm I’ll switch to liquid cooled. But for now...
...and haven't been home for a few days to replace my PSU fan yet but I just now realize that every one and video has been talking about the Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX(3 pin) fans and not the NF-A4x20 PWM (4 pin) fans, the one I have. NF-A4x20 PWM
lol did I get the wrong PSU fan? When I checked amazon...
nice build ! that case is a beast. The Noctua is nice but the 14900K can make some heat, my guess is it will run on the hot side with only the air cooling.
...24/7 365 days. Then 42 cameras at 4-8mp for 30-90 days. Plan to use Code Project AI on most of the cameras.

I replaced the fans on my NVR with Noctua fans. It's in our bedroom and the only things we hear is the air being moved. Definitely happy with a minimum investment.
...that flies in front of the camera. Is there a way to make this more reliable to true motion?
I also replaced the 2 fans on the NVR with Noctua fans to try and quiet it down. It's still a bit loud, has anyone been able to get their NVR to be almost completely silent?
For these 2 items...
...as shown in pics but is 100% working and can not be seen that much as it is at the back corner.
Also I have upgraded the internal fans to noctua fans. I will include the original boxes as these contain the speed variation cables, if you wished for the fans to be even quieter.
Only...
I put Noctua fans in my NVR, at full power it's still quieter than the original fans where at 'adaptive'.
Make sure there's ventilation around the NVR as well, and heat can escape. My NVR's in a cupboard and I had to put a vent in the ceiling to effectively remove hot air.
...40 x ?? mm exhaust fan on the power supply (on the rear). Here is a thread detailing two examples of case fan and heatsink modifications with Noctua fan installations. No users have yet reported replacement of the power supply fan.

Tricky Bastards.
I heard about this issue log file problem last year when I mentioned if anyone might have " Noctua-ed" a Cisco.....So the motherfucker resides in the garage.
So, just want to share what I ended up doing. I tested with the Noctua low noise filter, didn't do much, I think the resistor was not rated properly for the stock fan.
I ordered a much less powerful 3 pin blower fan from Amazon but it didn't work when I connected to the switch. I did more...
It actually looked like this:
https://www.cablesandkits.com/accessories/switching/cisco-fans/cis3560gfan/pro-7680/
Someone has tried it with the low noise adapter but I don't know how long his switch has lasted:
Something like this?
Those looks like two 40*40*20mm fans, such as these: NF-A4x20 PWM
Two fans staked in a sign this device needs some serious air flow and would overheat if the fan speed was reduced.
It's likely the fan controller is setting the speed and would shutdown the device if a fan...
