    Recommendation for good/cheap mini camera?

Hi Andrew, I originally was looking for a small camera also for my front door .. I ended up instead using the mini-dome wedge style camera and it worked very well for me, and I accepted that it is OK to have a camera on my front door after having issues with delinquents Honestly, I would go...

Narrow side of house Bobbie cam or 5442?

5442 varifocal all day long. In my experience the 5442 is far superior to the wedge. The wedge/boobie have their places, and this is not it.

Narrow side of house Bobbie cam or 5442?

Nice project .. Plan to get the cabling and positions right .. now is a great time to test for possible placements... Personally I would go with the 5442 models with a narrower FOV .. also if you have a door on the side there, but a mini-dome wedge camera about at face level ..

Small PoE camera for under a soffit?

for the soffit, if you want less people to notice, just paint the camera to match .. @signal9 I do really like the mini-dome wedge cameras at the front door, face level .. and perhaps some places in doors .. otherwise the usual turrets and bullets is what I go for. very nice ..

Small PoE camera for under a soffit?

I was going to suggest the wedge as well, but having used one I much prefer the image of the 5442s for the small increase in pricing. Also, keep in mind, the varifocal -ZE in the picture is larger than a fixed -AS.

Small PoE camera for under a soffit?

I'd recommend a mini wedge dome like a HDBW3541F-AS-M or HDBW3241F-AS-M for better night time quality. They're really small and you can hardly see which way the cam is looking. Here is it compared to a HDW5442T-ZE (photo courtesy of @zebrock )

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

got the printed plates yesterday. They look pretty decent, and will work perfectly for mounting the wedge on top of one of these plates. Hoping to redo the install this weekend, but I have a feeling I wont have time.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

...the Reolink DB in mind when making their designs but I didn't pay much attention to it ... I wish I had. My old YouSee Doorbell had a 15 degree wedge and it worked fine letting me see what I needed of my front door area so when I ripped it out and installed my Reolink I just used the included...

Kewl, post some pics when you are done. I still need to get one printed myself. Can I ask, how much do they cost?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I've ordered a few 3D prints from the STL files. Picking them up today. My intention is to use the printed mount plate in addition to the 15 degree wedge that was in the box. I might have to sand the flat visible surfaces of the mount plate.. not sure yet, but will find out soon enough.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I would assume yes, there are small post sticking up to align them. My two wedges fit good. As you see the four post on this printable: https://www.printables.com/en/model/333860-reolink-doorbell-accessories/related If your Wedge works for you I would use it. You mentioned smooth, the...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Do you know if the included wedge mount could be used in addition to one of those printed mounts? (Printables) thinking of : either "Reolink Doorbell Straight Wedge With Integrated Cover" or "Reolink Doorbell Straight Wedge With Integrated Oval Cover" directly against my wall (so that the...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

So I have purchased two Tablet mounts from Joseph here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MotifsEtc About two years apart, anyway I was in communications with Joseph and he customized one of the mounts at my request. If things don't work out locally you could reach out to one of these Printer guys...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Hmmm yep that would have been a time saver for sure. And I took the doorbell off and held it against the included wedge. I definitely want to put that piece in my install now that I have seen the view it produces. I have seen 3D prints before and the plastic is rather rough surfaced. At...

how to mount cams to drop ceiling?

Anything beyond mini-dome/wedge cams, I start looking at brackets that attach to the tile tracks and/or use support cables to support the weight https://ventevinfra.com/product/wi-fi-mounting-bracket-above-ceiling-tile/ https://www.standsandmounts.com/suspendedceilingkits.aspx

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

My mistake. I guess I had in my head the flat mounts that came with my other DB. You are right, only the Wedge and Plate came with this DB. I think I am doing way too much these days, way too many projects...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

A flat mounting bracket would have been a great thing... but there was only the metal mount plate, the wedge, and the doorbell in my box. Just went through the box again. There was never a flat mounting bracket in mine. That would have save me a lot of time.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

First off, Great job, it looks much better than what was there before. The Wedge that comes with our DB is a 15 degree and just stacks on top of the flat mount. Since I have two DBs, I had to use two wedges, which also stack, so I ended up with a 30 degree angle. Secondly, your Mason guy did...

    Mini Wedge in Corridor Mode

Well, after nearly two years reading, planning, studying, reading some more, and with a lot of dreaming mixed in, I have my first two cams up - front entry. Just about broke my arm patting myself on the back! Anyhoo, trying to get one of them set to corridor mode (an E3541F). Rotated the camera...

    Recommendations - Interior / Ceiling Mount / POE / Unobtrusive / Fixed & PTZ

...about the future sheetrock repair I would need to do when the camera became obsolete. So I elected to use a surface mounted IPC-E3541F-AS-M Wedge camera (3.6mm / 5MP). Performance is similar to the 4MP N43AN52 you have on your list. Here are photos that show the installation and coverage:

...long. Get the camera set where you want it, walk around for a few minutes from different angles etc.. and off to the next spot. I cracked the window open just enough and put the camera in, let the window back down to sort of lightly wedge it in, for a couple views to see if I liked/wanted them.

    Recommended or current popular cameras

...have to buy 6 cams with fixed lens to get the 7th cam with the money saved by not buying varifocals. But my plan for the system was mixed with wedge domes, active deterrence and 5442 turrets, so it would be unlikely that I would have need for 7 cameras (from 5442 series) with fixed lenses...

Camera placement recommendations for new-to-me home

...near the left blue dot so that it can play double-duty of "face-cam" and "package-cam" - planning to use the 2MP (or maybe the 5MP?) mini-dome wedge. I was under the impression that 10' height was the optimal balance between avoiding vandalism and getting a good angle. For the cameras...

Camera placement recommendations for new-to-me home

...unfortunately I don't have the luxury of time to do it for the next one. I'll need to take my best guesses and live the results. I had a mini-dome wedge planned for the packages on the front porch but hadn't considered one at eye level - I think I'll mount the package cam to handle both -...
