    Different port types are confusing

First, in Blue Iris, you simply put in the IP address and username and password and hit the find/inspect key and Blue Iris will take care of the rest of finding ports, etc. Second, Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris..if you can return them, do so! Blue Iris and Reolinks do not work well...

Losing signal, but can see on app

+1 on above! Wifi is problematic for surveillance cameras whether you use BI or not because they are always streaming and passing data. And the data demands go up with motion and then you lose signal. A lost packet and it has to resend. It can bring the whole network down if trying to use it...

Camera motion detection vs BlueIris motion detection

Most of us if we have cameras with AI in them have found those to be superior (for the moment) than BI motion detection. Recent DeepStack integration helps, but motion detection can be a big CPU hog and if the cameras can perform it reliably, it lessens the load on the computer. Take a look at...

Need outdoor dome camera recommendation for Houseboat

Thanks for putting up with long drawn out answers  Seriously, so many come here after buying the wrong camera or system, like Reolink, Wize, et al. Then get irritated when the problems with those brands are pointed out. You're doing it the right way. Glad to help.

Reolink RLC-810A Cameras - Lots of Problems with Blue Iris

Hi @bethzur Did you move the Amcrest cameras to a short good test cable and lose connectivity? The reason I note is the often emf can affect cable runs which are not done well, and I've seen issues on cable runs. So far my Amcrest, Dahua cameras are running well.

Reolink RLC-810A Cameras - Lots of Problems with Blue Iris

I have a Reolink dome camera in my garage. I've never had an issue with Blue Iris. I did upgrade the firmware. It was indeed cheap, but it was varifocal which I wanted. On the other hand, I have problems with Amcrest cameras. One is back for warranty service and the bullet one was replaced with...

Wifi camera interups other wifi camera

I have posted this before. I did a wifi test a while back with multiple 2MP cameras each camera was set to VBR, 15 FPS, 15 Iframe, 3072kbs, h.264. Using a wifi analyzer I selected the least busy channel (1,6,11) on the 2.4 GHZ band and set up a separate SSID and access point. With 3 cameras...

Amcrest AD110 - Can I do better than this?

Doorbell cameras are still problematic. Many have instead gone with small dome wedges. A wifi camera will be problematic when you need it the most. Blue Iris and Reolinks do not work well together, but the same principles applies for almost any low end consumer grade camera. It is just...

Reolink RLC-810A Cameras - Lots of Problems with Blue Iris

I'll say it - - Reolink is crap. Don't waste your time, effort, and especially not your money. I'm one of those who ran into problems long ago with their cameras, and would not want anyone else to have that experience.

Reolink RLC-810A Cameras - Lots of Problems with Blue Iris

Hi Everyone! I'm new to the site, but I wanted to share a current experience I am having with the Reolink 810A Camera. I recently bought two of them (bullet style), and added them to my system. I'm running Blue Iris, current version, and I have 6 cameras, which I will expand to roughly 15...

    Advice on cleaning up recordings

If you can return them, do LOL. I highly doubt a firmware update will add iframes, so let's all be surprised... Please provide a quick video snippet of a nighttime video showing how these cameras are working out well. We have yet to have someone that says they work well or the video is...

    Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

Hello wittaj I‘ve only now discovered there’s a “deepstack” function and just roughly browsing this thread. I am always interested in reading your posts when I come across them but so far as I know, you have here a significant misconception. You are saying that the “key” in the BI Status...

    Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

I agree about the Reolinks, I have 4 RLC410W's (2 were free, long story) and I also recently got an Amcrest with adjustable keyframe intervals. The best you can do with them is NOT use substreams, because those are far worse with the .25 ratio compared to the .5 of the main stream. I...

    Hell Yeah! Direct Deepstack Integration - 5.4.0 - March 31, 2021

It is worth pointing out in this thread the same issue that some folks will experience now that Deepstack is integrated with Blue Iris and thus people that have tried to use certain types of cameras with the other 3rd party apps are already aware of this, or will become aware of LOL: Here is...

    Yet another newbie

And here is why Blue Iris and Reolinks do not work well together. This was a screenshot of a member here where they had set these cameras to 15FPS within the cameras (I suspect you will be missing motion that you do not know you are missing....): Now look at they key - that is the iframes...

HW acceleration errors and wonky behaviors...

Thanks for your opinion. HA does in fact work on the Reolink cameras. Without the HA my CPU will run at near 90%. I have been running this system for over two years and never had problems with "crappy video".

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Thanks for the head up. I know you've probably done it a thousand times by now, still much appreciated. Already got the RMA for my 7 Reolink cameras and ordered an IPC-T5442T-ZE from Empire Tech last night(should be here today) and will try it out and see if I like it.

[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

Not really adding anything here other than agreement with all of the above, reolinks are nice cameras but they are without question craptastic when used with BI. I wanted to upgrade a couple of my cheaper cameras and unknowingly bought a few reolinks. Nothing but issues.
