How can I upgrade a Lorex HD DVR to a Dahua Firmware?

DMSS will work for the Lorex NVR’s I have (I assume DVR’s too) unless you’re trying to use P2P, and if that’s the case you shouldn’t and should probably figure out how not to

Using Spotter Cameras to direct a PTZ where to look in an NVR or Blue Iris and setting a spotter cam as a priority in Blue Iris

Here is a real time video of how this works with BI. You use the AI in the spotter camera to detect a person. This positive alert sends a signal to BI to tell the PTZ to move to a preset. From this preset the PTZ watches with its own AI to detect and confirm a person. If it's a positive then...

Using Spotter Cameras to direct a PTZ where to look in an NVR or Blue Iris and setting a spotter cam as a priority in Blue Iris

It cannot be done within the camera GUI - it needs to be within a VMS like Blue Iris or an NVR. Take a look at the link on the first post - Lorex is made by Dahua and depending on your model, you may be able to do it within the NVR - my neighbor can with his Lorex.

Using Spotter Cameras to direct a PTZ where to look in an NVR or Blue Iris and setting a spotter cam as a priority in Blue Iris

first want to say hello to everyone. I'm very much a newbie here. I've spent few days here in the forum trying to learn what I could. I 100% plan on coming back here and doing things full force forward but in the meantime I had a quick question I hope someone could answer. As for all this stuff...

    Lorex NVR LNR608-N

Hi @CTSteven re: Lorex NVR LNR608-N iirc that should be a Dahua OEM NVR .. so first look for Dahua OEM cameras .. also, it should also work with ONVIF .. tho as wittaj notes, with ONVIF you may lose some more advanced features ( which could be ok for some camera positions .. ) Do check the...

    Lorex NVR LNR608-N

It is always best to match brand of NVR and camera to ensure full compatibility. Some systems are better than others and will allow ONVIF compliant cameras to work with their NVR, but usually all you get is the video and any camera analytics like two-way audio, AI, etc. may not function...

    Lorex NVR LNR608-N

Hi, Did some searching and came up with some info but it was not specific, so wanted to ask those that are more knowledgeable. I was given a Lorex NVR LNR608-N and was hoping to be able to connect an ONVIF complaint camera to it. I figured Lorex is touch and go with 3rd party equipment but...

Lorex FLIR camera reset with no reset button

First is it branded Flir or Lorex? With those old cams you have to lower the security on the nvr, it should have prompted when you plugged them in. And yes, they like every electronic appliances have back doors built in. So when you give them camera info with displayed date/time they can...

    Camera options with Dahua NVR

It is best to match brand of NVR with cameras, or at least OEM. So in this case most Lorex, Amcrest, EmpireTech, etc. The key is to find ONVIF compliant devices. Just be aware outside of manufacturer OEM, you may only get the video feed and not the other items like AI.

How can I upgrade a Lorex HD DVR to a Dahua Firmware?

At some point they blocked it from being able to flash other OEM firmware, so you could be running into that. I don't have that model, but my neighbors with Amcrest and Lorex systems have been able to use DMSS or any other OEM app without an issue.

How can I upgrade a Lorex HD DVR to a Dahua Firmware?

Hi all. I have been researching this topic heavily but I am running into errors. I found multiple firmware files but every time I try to upgrade it the DVR says it failed to upgrade. I think the DVR doesn't recognize the firmware and is blocking it. Upon opening the device I found it has a Dahua...

    DHI-NVR5216-16P-4KS2E

Hi, I have 9 poe cameras all connected to various poe switches through the house, I then take a cable from any of those and plug it into any of the 16 switch ports on back of nvr, setting the switch to an ip from the 192.168.1.x range because this is the range all my cameras are on. I then...

Lorex started taking pre orders for new 4K doorbell B862AJDB

Hi All, I know Lorex sells Dahua rebranded cams and till now they were selling 2K doorbell similar to Amcrest AD410. But now I just saw them taking pre-orders for new 4K doorbell with model# B862AJDB. Specs say it has vertical head to toe view and person, vehicle, animal and package detection...

    Dahuna NVR comparison

I'll see what kind of price the 5-XI is. Running two NVR isn't exactly ideal but I can make it work. The 6 series would be better in that I could run 1 unit, but I'd have to see if anyone I know would want to buy my old NVR to even think about going that route. My neighbor runs Lorex cameras...

Can I add Blue Iris to a Lorex System?

What ports would I port forward from my lorex system so I can allow my blue iris system to access it remotely to record it? I'm doing this as well but explicitly because this blue iris system will not be on site and is for remote backup.

Hi all! My setup includes a Lorex Fusion N910 with four PoE cams (the Costco set), a Lorex doorbell, and now four cheap Cinnado D1 indoor cams. After I gave up on connecting the doorbell on a different subnet to my NVR (spent hours with Lorex tech support), the next challenge came - Once...

    Qsee NVR Help

Checked my old Q-See machine.. it is a QT8516, so different model line than the one in question.. Dahua POA cctv cameras in Reolink POE nvr

NVR model? I'm thinking if your current NVR is ONVIF compliatn you should be able to get the Reolink working with it. IIRC, there's a thread here somewhere regarding doing just that IIRC....I'll be looking for it. EDIT: Here they are. #1 is a Dahua NVR, #2 is a Lorex (Dahua OEM)...

B5442E-ZE video jumping back and forth.

I plugged in an old Lorex NVR and it won’t allow me to do anything without saying to install plugins first, which doesn’t work. At least Amcrest is allowing some functionality from a web browser. With that being said it looks like it will allow me to save a MP4 clip directly from the NVR with...

    Lorex LNB9232S-C rewire to Cat5 RJ45

Just created an account to thank you and the other people on this thread. I just recently lost two Lorex cameras to corrosion from rain. Difference between _S2 and _S3 ?

The only US distributor I’ve looked at is B&H and what they offer is crap and overpriced compared to what’s available on the international market. 4Ks on a 1/2.8 is their go to. So either the US market sucks or we’re being lied to, which I don’t believe is case just by the shutter speed I’m able...

I picked up the Lorex 4K Doorbell on sale. So far it is working rather well. The App has given me a few issues however. Bricked Dahua DHI-NVR52A16-16P-4KS2 - Any thoughts?

Extending Range of Lorex PoE Camera

Eventually, for extremely long distances, you can use optical fiber. On the market, there are cables that, in addition to the fiber, also carry two conductors, positive/negative, to power the device. It's a kind of Power over Fiber (POFiber).. In any case, yes, the use of battery/solar-powered...

Good/bad idea to mount a camera to a tree?

I know this is an old thread but in case anyone searches it in the future, I've had great success with cams in trees. My main goal was aesthetics and concealment from a security standpoint. Hidden cameras are less likely to be disabled. I started putting these cameras up about 9 years ago and...
