The Hookup purchases Reolink and IPCAM Talk in a massive deal to take over the CCTV industry

Thank you for the explaination. I thought I'd heard him mention something about not receiving any kickback and all that. And he put videos out showing what he says are direct comparisons of footage from various cameras, including night/low light, and the reolink appears to be very good in...

The Hookup purchases Reolink and IPCAM Talk in a massive deal to take over the CCTV industry

Reolink cameras and "The HookUp" are generally regarded as bottom of the barrel, crap cameras by most IPCT members due to the poor night quality and lack of control of critical settings in Reolink cameras, plus their non-standard video encoding. "The HookUp" is basically a shill for Reolink and...

bidens incredible transition to electric cars

That's great if you can either hookup with someone that is not only willing to tow you but just happens to be going 25 miles in a direction that is also agreeable to you, otherwise you'd have to drive back...unless he's towing you in a circle. Also, many states have laws restricting tow speeds...

The HookUp ranks the Empiretech T5842 (Dahua IPC-HDW5842T-ZE) as the best affordable camera if night time performance is the main concern

I have to concur with regards to the overall quality of security / surveillance camera reviews I have seen on most consumer websites as well as Amazon. " .. I have found most Amazon reviews to be useless LOL. .. " - Wittaj Unfortunately few know what to look for when evaluating security /...

Plus, when someone has 200,000+ subscribers, inevitably they will start to push consumer grade stuff that is "plug-n-play" because they do not...

Bought 10 Reolink cams, then found they didn't used to play well with Blue Iris - have they improved enough?

Bought 10 Reolink cams, then found they didn't used to play well with Blue Iris - have they improved enough?

Hi @vicmail12 Good questions, and good research so far on your part. So far I do not recall seeing a confirmation that is definitive on this model of Reolink. ( remember each model can have their own firmware updates .. ) If you have the time to check and see .. or find confirmations here or...

Bought 10 Reolink cams, then found they didn't used to play well with Blue Iris - have they improved enough?

As a homeowner wanting to acquire and operate a non-subscription security camera system, I discovered The Hookup channel on YouTube, where author Rob extols a subjectively evaluated, relatively high value-to-cost ratio of Reolink cameras. Not aware of the history of Reolink cameras not being...

The HookUp ranks the Empiretech T5842 (Dahua IPC-HDW5842T-ZE) as the best affordable camera if night time performance is the main concern

Did you see my post #6? In that post I demonstrated that the empiretech cameras are even more capable that the Hookup shows. The distance you want to cover is more important than the MP and that was the other point of my post was that the Hookup was not using the correct camera for the...

    I made the Reolink mistake

Guess after all it is YouTube so not everything should be taken as fact. Such as filling a pool with jello or giving away cars and cash like the videos I can’t stand when the kids watch them.

    I made the Reolink mistake

Hey, sorry I still haven't gone around inspecting the 'improvements' if any as scientifically as possible.. for starters I was going to setup BI for this (since I'm using the reolink nvr.. I know don't judge). The only way to access the new 'features' is if the cameras are accessible from a...

...That stated, The Hookup has learned a lot more, and is now covering important issues better on the topic of security camera image quality of capture. I made the Reolink mistake

By him I meant the post above yours by airbag888 that said he had the new firmware and would try it out that night and report back the next day, but yes many people do not trust what the hookup puts out (although he has been getting better and isn't a complete Reolink fanboy anymore LOL).
