    Internet to my detatched shop

Yeah if you're digging a trench then just hard wire your AP. If you don't want to deal with managed switches and vlans then just run multiple fibres and use one for each network. You'll still be able to use managed switches and vlans at a later date if you want.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

It defies belief but as is often mentioned on these forums it's not uncommon for some settings to simply not appear in some browsers. The security camera industry is still stuck in the dark ages really when it comes to UX.

This is likely the simplest way using the switches and config you already have. Where's the cable entry point in relation to the IP camera switch that hangs off your BI machine? you'll still need to link that.

Will the ap be on your main network and the cameras be on your isolated second nic? You can do that using vlans and managed switches. But you should also be able to do it without vlans on an unmanaged switch as long as the two subjects are different. Make sure all ip cameras have static...

    Ubiquiti Networks Cloud Gateway Ultra

I just tried out the teleport function. https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/5246403561495-UniFi-Gateway-Teleport-VPN It's amazingly simple to setup and use.

    Ubiquiti Networks Cloud Gateway Ultra

After two router drop outs in one day I'd had enough. My CGU is currently installing. I'd previously bought a TP-Link deco wifi mesh kit last month so the wifi side will still be taken care of. The plan is to eventually get some unifi APs as well but there's not so much of a hurry there. The...

What size conduit are you planning to run? 50mm is a pretty good size that will allow plenty of room for additional cables later. Just remember to run a pull string in the conduit for future pulls.

    Ubiquiti Networks Cloud Gateway Ultra

I've been trying to find a way to buy one of these without the wife finding out (luckily our current router has been suffering dropouts so I might get the go ahead soon anyway). There's a good vlan setup guide here. https://lazyadmin.nl/home-network/unifi-vlan-configuration/

Adding EmpireTech System to Existing Ubiquiti Network

See the internet explorer symbol listed in the web page column? Clicking on that should take you through to the camera. I have two different brand nvrs that do this.

Adding EmpireTech System to Existing Ubiquiti Network

If you can reach the NVR on the network then usually you can reach the cameras plugged into the Poe ports of the NVR through the NVR itself.

I don't know where you read that but it's really not correct. Connecting to cameras on a Poe NVR isn't difficult at all.

Well mine is not slow anymore since replacing the cable. It does still sometimes take a minute to bring up the preview on certain pages like the image page but apart from that it's ok. I removed that plug in too. It's kept asking me to give admin creds every time I restarted my laptop. I've...

    NVR/switch questions - two structures

You have a switch in your basement and a switch in your workshop? And they're linked together by a network cable? If the switch in your workshop is a POE switch, it will be able to power the camera and send the data back to the switch in the basement and from there onto the NVR. If the switch...

Adding EmpireTech System to Existing Ubiquiti Network

It amounts to the same thing really although Poe nvrs tend to cost more than non Poe nvrs (possibly more than a non Poe NVR plus unmanaged switch). If you use a Poe NVR the NVR will take care of the IP addressing of the cameras, the cameras will be on the NVR Lan which is essentially a...

So i couldn't just sit here an not check it until tomorrow. Besides it got worse to the point where i could bring up the camera's web page but it would time out logging in and my NVR lost the link to the camera. I found the culprit. Notice the splits in places along the individual wires. Most...

Advice please for a house in the Australian bush with a single access point

That could work. Or you could put in a trench and then using a conduit you could run Ethernet to a suitable location and mount a camera in a post.

Adding EmpireTech System to Existing Ubiquiti Network

There are a few users here using ubiquiti networks with isolated vlans and firewall rules. I can't recall who they are. If you get an NVR with poe built in you will only need to give the NVR wan port an IP on your camera vlan. The NVR will provide its own isolated IP range to the connected...
