    Leftover folders?

I've got bi setup to move files from the alerts to the storage folder after one day. Looking through the Alerts folder, there are folders from way back to 2017 that bi did not delete. It appears bi moved the files but did not delete the folders. Am I missing some setting that would fix this?

    can't move camera windows

Oops, I found it, there's a "drag lock" option if you right click on a blank space in the bi window. That was selected, which prevented me from dragging camera frames around. Problem is fixed, you may resume your normal activities.

Not zoomed in and still can't rearrange the windows. I'm on release 4.6.0.2, don't know if that makes a difference.

    can't move camera windows

I know I was able to do this in the past - rearrange the camera windows in the order I'd like. Just clicked and dragged the window to where I want it on the bi screen. Now I can't do it. Is there some switch I mystically clicked that locked the camera windows in their current positions? Any...

    many cameras accessing same hd

I'm not finding good deals on those optiplex's, especially the core i7 7040 versions. Bought one last year w/ a 500 gb ssd for $700. I'm seeing systems w/ 1 tb hard drives for $1000.

    many cameras accessing same hd

After my tweaks to the synology nas packages, the system has been running a whole lot smoother. I've developed a bad habbit of using bi on my general purpose computer and finding myself loading tons of programs on this pc. Am considering getting a standalone pc purely for the bi load, that way...

    many cameras accessing same hd

I looked at the synology nas and disabled packages that I did not need to run, including the included antivirus and it responds a whole lot faster now. I think the antivirus may have been bogging the system down trying to check the hundreds of thousands of video and photo files. The system...

    many cameras accessing same hd

I've got about 15 security cameras setup to record to a Synology NAS. The cameras do their own onboard monitoring and recording to the NAS and I've got BI setup to monitor and record to the same NAS. I'm running into situations where I try to view the NAS contents via Windows Explorer and I...

BI stuck recording, but, not really recording

I don't really need the real-time playback as much as the ability to playback at anytime. Instead of having to go through file conversions, I think I'll just drop combine and cut and see if that makes things run smoother. I thought the red border meant bi was recording, but, if it means the...

BI stuck recording, but, not really recording

No red dot in the top right corner - but, red border around clip image, which shows 12 sec of recording with a timestamp 3 minutes ago. fenderman: not worried about reviewing the clip while recording so much as why bi says it's recording, but, actually isn't and locks up the clip until I hit...

BI stuck recording, but, not really recording

I'm constantly finding BI in a recording mode on some cameras - as depicted by the red border around the clip views. However, BI isn't actually recording, there's just a red border indicating BI is recording. I'm unable to view a clip that has a red border and have to hit the stoplight to stop...

    Exploit virus in jpg files

I'm consistently getting virus alerts in my BlueIris jpg files. Using AVG for virus detection (really wish i had Bitdefender!). I'm curious if any others are seeing this virus in their blueiris system?

how many video files on your BI system

I've got 12 cameras, setup to delete files > 21 days old. I believe my cams are setup to snapshot about 5 times per video recording. Usually run around 20k - 30k files. If I get rainy/snowy/foggy nights/days the cameras trip like crazy and I will see up to 60k files. Sunny, non-eventful days...

    NAS Drive

I've got 15 cameras running to a Synology DS214play NAS, which is backed up with a Synology DS215j. Works flawlessly, got no hicuphs at all. The NAS is easier to hide than a desktop. My network is Gb, with cat 6e wiring, so, not having any throughput issues. The only time I do have issues is...

Time Lapse Video, what's the secret?

I'd be interested in hearing what settings you used for good timing for your time-lapse video. I've wanted to do one for an annual video, but, never got around to it. If BI can do it automatically, then I'd love to set it up and let it run.

    Jpeg snapshot vs alert images?

On the record settings: what is the difference between Jpeg snapshot (only when triggered) and create alert list images when triggered? I'm getting a slew of jpg images with each trigger video and have both (jpeg snapshot and alert list) setting checked. I'm thinking I only need one of those...

new feature or how can I do it ...

Well, I am getting acquainted with the schedules and profiles, which helps somewhat, but, you still have to manually go through each camera to adjust it's settings. Would be a nice feature to have a single place to go to make changes to each camera without having to plod through each camera's...

new feature or how can I do it ...

Newbie here, so, pardon me if this is already addressed: I am constantly finding myself thinking I should make this tweak on my camera settings and apply it to all of my cameras. Then I open up each individual camera, make the change, save, go to next camera. Is there a way to make a global...

    How do you use BI?

The cameras can be setup to do continuous recording to the NAS. Is there a reason I'd want to use my cpu cycles and setup BI to do continuous recording when the camera already supports that function?

    How do you use BI?

My old security system (Lorex system) continuously recorded all cameras and overwrote older recordings as the hard drive got full. I've setup BI to record on triggers and NOT record continuously. I'm currently sitting on 10 cameras and have BI setup to store trigger recordings to a Synology...

This a good deal for a Dell BI build?

I'll have to check that system to verify it can support multiple monitors - it's details are pretty slim on ebay. I think I see 2 hdmi ports. I assume they're from the onboard video.

Clips and archiving not moving clips.

I'll echo some of JshKlsn's thoughts: I don't want a scrollbar miles long and want to periodically move old clips to a different folder. When you get lots of clips in the db and you nudge the scrollbar you could end up moving hours or days, depending upon the number of clips in the db. A...
