    Depth of focus on vari-focal lens

    I’ve been experimenting with a motorized 2.8-12mm turret camera. It seems like when the camera is zoomed out it has much less depth of focus than a comparable 2.8mm fixed camera. Is this typical for vari-focal lens?

    I found that the iFrame worked better at lower numbers when I first set up the mini bullet camera for license plates. There are no new visible lights. I did add an additional license plate camera facing the same spot but in the other direction so it hits the other end of the car.

    Yes I power cycled the camera and NVR. I upgraded the camera firmware to the latest version. I also reset the settings to default and reprogrammed them.

    How do you calculate the bandwidth of an HD-TVI camera? I'm looking at a Hikvision DS-7216HUHI-F2/N Tribrid DVR. It's maximum incoming/outgoing bandwidth is 128 Mbps. I want to use 16 HD-TVI cameras (2MP 30FPS and/or 3MP 15FPS) and 2 3MP IP cameras.

    Does the larger 1/1.7" sensor reduce the camera's ability to zoom in relative to smaller sensor cameras? For example the 4K bullet has a 32.6°angle of view at 12mm (4096 × 2160), while the 3MP mini bullet with a smaller 1/3" sensor has a 20.6°angle of view at 12mm (2048 × 1536)
