    Looking For Floodlight Suggestions

I bought one of these a year or two ago. Sadly they seem to no longer sell them, which is a shame because I want more of them. https://m.reolink.com/au/product/reolink-floodlight There are other Poe lighting options out there but they tend to be expensive.

if you can read chinese why not just use the chinese firmware? I don't even know that you could roll back to english firmware. I'm sure it requires some vendor inside knowledge to be able to do so.

Hacked? My cameras had access to the internet

Most camera manufacturers use amazon etc data centers as points of contact for their cameras when they check for updates or for communications to P2P servers etc. They're not connecting directly into a server in the factory in china. I think in this case that is what you're seeing. Are you...

What type of switch/router for my needs

Maybe some of their old kit, but I reckon all current unifi poe switches are compliant with the standards as well as providing passive poe. Their access points on the other hand are not all compliant. But even so, saying to stay away from them because some might not do what you want is like...

Often asked, but so confused cameras and vlans. [newborn newbie]

Unless you want to redo all the IP addressing on your camera vlan just remember to substitute your vlan id and ip addresses for those used in the guide.

Often asked, but so confused cameras and vlans. [newborn newbie]

I don't think the deco range supports vlans and/or multiple network addresses. I use a unifi cloud gateway ultra and this guide is quite good for showing how to configure it and lock it down. https://lazyadmin.nl/home-network/unifi-vlan-configuration/ It's a really well priced router that has...

Is there a better way to set this up? or am i just OCD...

Pretty much any managed switch should work with any basic vlan configuration. Unless you're doing anything overly complicated. You'll need to manage the switches individually though of course. You won't be able to manage them via the ubiquiti management portal.

There is on the FCD600, which is the 6mp version. If you can't drill any holes how are you planning to mount it?

Is there a better way to set this up? or am i just OCD...

There is a potential requirement for some situations needing managed switches to handle different vlans but there's nothing to suggest that is what's going on here.

Hikvision nvr dont work with cisco ip camera

Well the obvious answer is that you're using the wrong credentials to connect. Does the camera have its own web confirmation page that you can access and confirm what credentials are used for onvif? Did you create an account specifically for onvif?

Cannot reach Hikvision IP Cameras on Ubiquiti network - Any ideas?

Sounds like you must have some inter vlan blocking turned on (which is good). But if you want to be able to access your cameras without having to change vlans on your laptop, you can just add a firewall rule to allow that traffic. Allow traffic from your default vlan (or whichever vlan your...

layout design. POE switches and backbones

The F stands for frame, not feed and they usually refer to telephony networks not IP networks but other than that the concept is the same. Have a central switch and have remote switches connected to it and have your cameras connected to your remote switches.

100m is within the standard. Anything over that is not supported even though it may work. As for shielded cable, without knowing what this facility is, there may be a need for it regardless of cable length, but it's probably not going to help much with the 100m limit. If you need to have...
