For exactly the same reasons I stated the first time, with higher resolution you can identify more people at further distances. Given your argument, you might as well save bandwidth by having a two pixel by two pixel sensor. You won't be able to see anything, but apparently that's not important... -

For security applications fps is a waste. I also hadn't seen those disappointing field of view angles. Nor had I noticed that the lower resolution is also at a worse aspect ratio. If you can't see how more resolution allows you to identify more people though.... Yikes, this certainly isn't... -

Well that's unlikely being that b&h are already selling it, and you are not yet. But beyond that, I just asked them to tell me where to buy any of their door stations, and they simply said they only sell through resellers, but couldn't tell me who those resellers were. -

Having just given up on the AD410, I'm pretty sure it does not do port 80. I think my wife would shoot me if I put one of the white doorbells up. I'm sure the darker dahua would be fine. -

I bought straight from amcrest. Should have been through Amazon and I'd have had some purchase protection. I looked at Lorex, it's still a possibility, but this dahua looks promising. Just looking for updated price and availability. Though I do see B&H photo is advertising that they have them... -

Amcrest is made by Dahua, and for that reason I'm slightly reluctant on the Dahua camera, but my main issue with Amcrest wasn't the doorbells that failed, it was the lack of warranty support when they did. Any update on price or release date for this doorbell? I've completely given up on my Skybells which have given me nothing but grief since day one, and after dealing with Amcrest on 2 failed AD410s I'm reluctant to ever buy anything from that company again, so I'm really looking forward to...
