Disappointing, I thought this has been fixed. It actually looked promising when I installed BI5 (5.0.0.45) in my VM environment last week, as I did not have this issue. I'll revert my snapshot and try installing the latest to suck it and see. -

Sounds like you dont use specific Motion config. (HD, Shadows, Gaussian) -

not able to roll back to BI4 from BI5
I've just restored my backup of BI4, its easiest just to uninstall 4/5, clear the registry, then reinstall 4 and restore the Perspective Software reg key, and %ProgramFiles%\Blue Iris 4\ folder from your backup.- Vini

i7-7700 slow performance
I cant replicate the issue on an i7-7700. Remote playback of an alert recorded using Direct to Disc as a .bvr via UI3 does not hit my GPU utilisation in Task Manager. Here's my driver versions. -

i5-7400 swapped out for i7-7700. 6x 8mp cameras running at 20fps. Gone from 55-75% CPU which hit 92-99% on playback. To 20-30%, and 45% on playback. The cores, the cores. She loves the extra cores offered up by the i7! -

I switched all my cameras (a few months ago) to H264+/H265, and then I recall reading somewhere almost immediately after making the changes that BI doesn't support/work well with these pseudo codecs, so returned all cameras back to H.264 (removing +/H.265) -- or so I thought... More recently... -

No, I have no motion issues. I'm more interested to know if there's anything to do to combat the lighting. I suspect the "answer" is "move the camera"... but just wondering if/how other people have dealt with these issues. Having the Camera operate in "night mode" does nothing, as an example...- Vini

Words aren't actually required. It's clear to see the problem here. The sun moves round and the house in front casts a shadow (between the superimposed red lines)... Other than relocating the camera, does anyone have any suggestions?- Vini

I7 laptop for BI, sufficient for (8) 4Mp cameras?
Should be fine as long as it has 8GB RAM. Unless it's a newer generation, most laptop i7's will only be dual core however. With that said I currently run 7*8MP cameras on a second gen i7 (and host a couple of VMs on the same box), I had to upgrade to 16GB RAM in order to fit everything in... -

With the exception of PoE, the Wyze stuff (v2 & Pan) look ideal. Being in the UK, sourcing these seems to be somewhat tricky. Are there any problems flashing Chinese sourced cameras with OpenIPC/the alternative firmware?- Vini
