Ok. So you are saying that POE is 48 volts DC through the line. Correct? Then you are saying it gets regulated down to 12 volts DC. Where is it dropped to 12vdc? Inside the camera? Does this mean I need to feed 48 volts DC to the camera or 12 volts DC.

Nothing is wrong with POE but most swtches I am looking at only have POE on half of the ports. Also, are you saying the cameras run on 12v AC? 12v DC? or 24v AC? You weren't clear
