    Brand New to IP/PTZ Cams

The Wyze Cams are made for a quick and easy setup with access from anywhere. You can do the same thing with the Blue Iris web server, but it's neither quick nor easy. There are several different videos on YouTube, but it requires some knowledge of TCP/IP networking. You will want to either...

    Good idea. Thanks.

    floodlight camera over garage

Okay, so the light combo is the negating factor. Got it. Thanks.

    floodlight camera over garage

Thanks for the response. Yikes, yeah that's bad. Right now I have a Wyze (version 2, even) that works fine with BI5 as a stop-gap, at least in real-time. But I have a wired-Ethernet connection nearby I want to use. This particular area is low-risk; I have "identify capture" cameras covering...

    floodlight camera over garage

Thanks for the response. I found a Dahua IPC-L26N 2MP but it's wifi only. This Foscom has a wired-Ethernet connection, but I would still like something a little bit nicer.

    floodlight camera over garage

Thanks. Agreed, but in this case, I do not need the license-plate type of detail.

    floodlight camera over garage

Any recommendations for a floodlight camera over a brick garage looking down on driveway parking space 60'x30'. Similar to the Ring format below, Ethernet/IP-based, audio and obviously water-proof. I have and like the EmpireTech IPC-T5442T-TE but that's turret-based.

    recommended mount for driveway cam

Yep. So do I need to buy a mounting box at all?

    recommended mount for driveway cam

Thanks for the response. Ethernet coming up from the right on the other side of that 2x4. I would prefer not to drill into brick; however, I think I will hire an electrician for this one, and if he is adamant I might acquiesce.

    recommended mount for driveway cam

Any recommendations for a mount for a driveway IPC? I was going to get a 5442 Loryta bullet. It would have to either mount on brick or on the 2x4 that the drain spout is attached to.

    3841 or 5442?

For a 5442 bullet, I followed the thread to the Loryta Smart 4MP Ultra Low Light Starlight+ on Amazon. I assume this is a Dahua that is rebranded? This will be my first camera - am I better off getting a Dahua from a distributor for support reasons?

    Win10 vs WinServer

I have 2012R2 licenses available, but I would be willing to get 2016/2019/2022 Essential licenses if it added stability. I will be remote most of the time and will primarily be using the web server functionality rather than console. Given that, it seems logical that the server OS would be more...

    Win10 vs WinServer

Correct, it has a W10 license. I just typically use a server license for appliances, "enterprise" devices, and anything with two NICs. Thanks for the response.

    Win10 vs WinServer

I am planning to install BI on a Dell Optiplex 8-core i7 9700 and eventually eight cams. I have a Windows Server license I am willing to burn if there will be a benefit over using W10. Any thoughts?

    Blue Iris on Server

Any problems with Server 2016 or 2019? I had planned on using 2019.
