Hi Mat200 Yes so the current system was an off the shelf Swann NVR 7285 with 5 cameras a mix of Swann NHD-810 and NHD-811 cameras. the NVR has now failed and all the Swann compatible alternatives are obsolete. The goals are to record any interference with the cars on our driveway day or night...

Yes I do have to agree! Its also doesn't say much for a firm when they become obsolete so quickly!!

They are ethernet, from a quick read up I think they are POE as I didn't need to put a separate power cable in :cool:

The system I had was an NVR not a DVR so the cameras would be IP so I guess that your answer is basically the same but buy an NVR and see how it goes!!
