    Blue Iris UI3

Woohoo! Solved. In my thirty years with computers I didn't think of that. LOL. I just assumed it was a fixed dropdown. If I set the Specify frame size to the native resolution of my monitor (2560 x 1440) then is pixel perfect. However, I do notice a lot higher CPU usage once pass the highest...

    Blue Iris UI3

Any adjustments I made to Streaming 0/1/2 then "Configure" button had no effect. Oddly, I cannot set Bitrate (kbps) above "512". Your post #2502 helped. Every changes I made there like changing the Default max FPS took immediate effect. Checking the Specify frame size and changing the various...

    Blue Iris UI3

How do I get sharp video when viewing 'All cameras' live video in UI3? It looks jagged and frame rate is low like 5 fps. If I select an individual camera, it zooms in full screen, then quality looks great.

I need to verify the individual with his/her insurance card live. I was thinking of they walk up to the camera and present insurance card standing 1-2 feet back. What solutions do you have in mind for this?

Thanks for quick reply. I was afraid of that. I have a NC328-XDZ with zoom and focus controls that I think will work. I will give that a try.

    Unclear text

I have some Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I and DS-2CD2142FWD-I cameras that I am satisfied with the clarity of viewing objects at a distance (like landscapes, cars, houses, in a room, people, etc.). However, if I try to aim it at an insurance card, the text are barely readable. I tried tweaking settings...

Use IP Camera for HD Video Calls?

Want to do HD quality video phone calling/conference using an IP camera. Doable? I had the Nucleus Anywhere. Good product specifically made for video phone and intercom. It was easy to use but has unacceptable audio and low resolution video. To rule out the network, I did the testing on a wired...

How can I put Hikvision firmware on rebranded NVR?

Tried yours, did not work again. I am thinking... Is it my setup, copy of TFTP, or OEM NVR blocking updates/not working? I posted in this thread NOT getting final "Device [192.0.0.64] system update completed!" confirmation. Could this be the problem? See attached screenshots.

    Firmware Updating Issues

Thanks, another good advice on Hikvision USA tech support. Maybe they can support me on my DS-2CD2342WD-I issue on an OEM NVR. If not, it's no biggie, I plan to use this on a simpler setup anyways. Ultimately, my next project is to setup a Blue Iris system. That should handle anything I throw at...

    Firmware Updating Issues

Thanks for your detailed response. I am throwing in the towels. I have Hikvision cameras (DS-2CD2342WD-I) and upgrading the firmware was easy. Not the case with these Hikvision OEMs, too much hassle. Already tried popping case, telnet, TFPT, cryptic firmware names, endless search leading...

I got TFPT tool to work by going into Safe Mode and turning off firewall. So it's not Windows 10. For assurance, setup another PC with a clean Windows 7 and it works too. Firmware Updating Issues

I have an OEM NVR model HNR30P8-16 with Firmware version V3.0.8 Build 150209. Some say this is an OEM of the Hikvision DS-7608E2-8P. How do you protect losing your video recordings from a thief?

I am getting ready to put together a surveillance system and concerned with losing the only video recording that I have saved onto a NVR or Blue Iris/computer. How do you prevent a thief from destroying or taking away your only copy? Do you: Put NVR or computer in a safe? Backup to a...

    Best Ip cameras

PoE is power over Ethernet, using a single Ethernet cable to provide power and data transmission. Both the NVR (or a switch) and camera must be PoE devices. Make sure to buy quality solid core (i.e., avoid stranded or copper clad aluminum) Ethernet cables. If you care about network security...

Which Camera Style Should I Use?

I just got a link to a demo site with various camera types. I highly recommend it for someone new to get a "feel" for the different types.
