    Capturing Drivers Faces

Yes, the IPVM test is interesting. But I'm hoping to find a system that works out-of-the-box instead of doing research and testing of my own. But thank you for your link. AJ

    Capturing Drivers Faces

Does anyone know of a camera or system that will take video or still images of drivers inside their vehicle? I know such systems exist because all the red light cameras have these. The cameras work with a flash/strobe and are able to get good images through the windshield. I'm hoping that a...

    Hikvision LPR DeepInView DS-2CD7A26G0-IZ(H)S

I just purchased a LTS version of the same camera (I think): LTCMIP7923WLPR-32R . I've reviewed the specs and they appears to be identical. I'm going to install in next week. (LTS is an authorized dealer of both Hikvision AND their own LTS brand of Hikvision gear. I have no idea why they have...

Using IVMS 4200/4500 on a Tablet?

I need a small tablet (7 or more inches) to view my cameras. Viewing the cameras with IVMS is the primary purpose of the tablet. I mistakenly bought an Amazon Fire HD tablet but it will not run any version of IVMS (in spite of the fact that it is an Android based system.) Took me several hours...

    Hikvision Cube Wall Mounting

I like this model camera. Great picture quality. Observations: I no idea why they call this a "cube" camera. The shape is certainly not a cube. The camera has audio but I've found it very low powered - you can only hear loud talking or sounds. I think HK could have easily turned up the basic...

    Hikvision Cube Wall Mounting

Yes, the mounting plate comes off. You have to unscrew the post from the base. It will come apart. BTW: I did not want to have such a long post so I completely removed the post and then screwed the rotating mount into the base plate. Seems to work fine this way.

    Hikvision's new 4MP 2-series

Another problem presented with this 4MP camera -- after making changes to various parameters (trying to fix the flashing), the camera will not save settings. Even with I am directly connected to the camera via browser GUI, I cannot get the camera to save the GAIN setting (for one.) I had turned...

    Hikvision's new 4MP 2-series

I have a similar 4mp camera (2CDC2041WD-I) and it has the same problem: White flashing. But the white flashing on mine is not associated with motion detection. It happens every 10-20 seconds or so. The only time I can make it happen is when I click the "save" button while connected via browser...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I don't think I can make it any clearer than in my previous post: The good firmware is 5.3.3. The bad firmware is: 5.3.2 I don't recall if the bad camera firmware version showed up in the NVR. Keep in mind that this ONLY APPLIES TO THE 4MP 2CD2042 CAMERA.

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Sorry: Yes, the firmware shows on the box label -- and on the NVR for the new, working camera. The good firmware is 5.3.3. The bad firmware is: 5.3.2

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Well, the mystery of why my NVR would not install a 4MP camera appears to have been solved. I was working with a BAD CAMERA. I can say that because today I received another 4MP camera (same model number: 2CDC2041WD-I) and when I plugged it in to the NVR, it was installed without any problem...

I just noted that with the new 3.4 firmware, there is a checkbox for H264+ but it is greyed out.

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I did get 3.4 firmware installed on the NVR. But the new 4MP camera will still not install. Same problem. Maybe it is a bad camera (?). The 3.4 firmware is, however, very nice. Quite different than the old firmware. Has support for all the VCA functions like line crossing, object detection...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

You found 3.3.4 ! Ohhhh, this should fix everything. I'm going to do the upgrade. (I don't know about the mtdblock stuff. I'm going to save the current config, take a deep breath and upgrade the firmware.)

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

I connected an old 3MP dome camera to the LAN. It showed up as "active" at the bottom of the list. But there is no way to add it. Each time I try I get the message "No more cameras allowed" (Again, the NVR thinks the POE ports are cameras.) Then I took the camera and connected it directly to...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

My NVR is a Hikvision DS-7608NI-E2/8P with the latest firmware: v3.1.0. I had great hope that the latest firmware (which I installed yesterday) would solve this problem. But it did not. I just noticed that the specs for this NVR show 5MP and 3MP but not 4MP ! I really, really want to know if...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Here is another attempt: I connected the new camera to the LAN -- not directly to the NVR. The NVR sees the camera, calls it "active" but it is on the bottom of the list -- not connected/installed. I tried using different IP's including some of the current POE list and some higher. Nothing works.

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Okay -- I was able to login to the camera directly (with another computer.) Live view worked fine and all the data showed up. I reset all the default values for the camera. It came up with its native born: 192.168.1.64 I went to the NVR connected the new camera to the D3 POE port. The camera...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Now from my experience when a camera is connected at the LAN side of the NVR (i.e. not connected at the NVR PoE switch) it appears at the end of the camera list of the NVR interface. So according to my experiene and according to your last picture your new 4MP camera seems to be connected at the...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

You gave me many ideas. I worked on this problem and tried several things -- including updating the NVR to the latest firmware. I now believe that the problem is not with my (revised) configuration but with the new 4MP camera. -- I changed the "Internal NIC Address" to 192.168.1.1 -- Rebooted...

You are correct. I connected directly with my laptop using Chrome. I entered 12345 as the pw and then I was required to change the pw. Which I did. Then I changed the ip address using SADP -- and that worked. But I have a new problem: When I connect the camera to my NVR, the camera is "seen"...

Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Here is what is happening: I just received this 4MP camera from China today. I connected it to my Hikvision NVR. It was "seen" but not added because of the 192.168.1.64 address. (I am running on a 192.168.0.x network) I tried to change the IP address thru the NVR but it requires the...

Do you mean did I change the default camera ip address? If that's what you're asking, yes I did.. The default address is 192.168.1.64. I tried changing it to 192.168.0.64 and several other .0.XX addresses. I also tried just leaving the default address -- but nothing works. The image shows one...
