    Is this a good buy

they are for 3.5"... sorry missed that. So these are the screws from the other thread here? I'm putting a g2 600 together right now & just opened the case - I need to sort this out too for a 2.5" SSD I'd like to mount in the lower tray as a boot disk

Dell Optiplex VS HP Compaq for a Blue Iris machine

+1 for HP from me, I have an old i5-3470 HP that's never missed a beat to this day and I can't remeber the last time I turned it off. I have had a few minor hardware issues with optiplex machines over the years (I still own four personally though.... not sure what that says about me?). The HP...

    2.5" HD for recording?

This machine has a free M.2 slot so I would of put a 256GB or so M.2 SSD in it to boot from/run the OS, further this application is only for a few 1080p cameras, 1 or 2TB of storage is fine for the use case. To that end, I've seen 5TB mechanical 2.5" drives on Amazon (never had my hands on one...

    2.5" HD for recording?

Thanks Fenderman, I can get this for less than $100. More than anything I'm curious about 2.5 drives, never considered that form factor for NVR duty. I actually had an 5th Gen i5 SFF Optiplex I was going to buy local too (as opposed to this micro) but the seller backed out for some reason...

    2.5" HD for recording?

I am getting ready to deploy a new BI system and have the chance to buy a Dell 3020M local to me with a i7-4785T & 16GB of ram on the cheap. The chassis doesn't have a 3.5" drive bay, only 2.5" in addition to M.2 that I would put the OS on. So my question is is there a 2.5" drive that is...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

Thanks for the feedback bboy. The way I read the instructions was that you needed to have the camera paired/synced in the Wyze app before attempting to flash the new beta firmware. I think you're saying you paired the camera in the Wyze app at the same time as flashing the new firmware? I'll...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

I wasn't able to get the beta firmware to flash last night after screwing with the camera for 45 minutes +/- Has anyone else had issues flashing this firmware? I'll probably try again on the weekend. Currently have firmware rev 4.19.4.48 installed. I've seen some rumbling on other forums...

There is a link here: Wyze Cam RTSP Works with v2 only or Pan - I have v2 and will attempt to get this in operation with BI tonight.

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

I bought one for the same reason, the best luck I had was putting the camera on it's own separate wireless AP that I had laying around. Kind of a lot of hassle to implement a cheap camera.

How to disable SV3C china feed?

All a good idea, the two cameras I played with were trying to "phone home" always... I can't remember specifics but they are installed on an isolated network so not a big deal.

How to disable SV3C china feed?

I can't answer your question directly but I would get the camera off any internet connected network ASAP. You should have been able to connect to the camera's built in web page by assigning a computer to the same subnet and pointing a browser at the factory default IP address. The static (or...

SV3C 1080P Full HD Poe IP Camera, Bullet Outdoor Security Camera with 2.8MM-12MM Varifocal Lens

I guess I resemble that remark Q? I can't speak for the other newbs but i joined in 2016. I haven't been lurking for two years just to come out now to promote Chinese cheap shit cameras. I can say the firmware & software suck but my cheap in-laws wanted cameras up.... I'm skeptical too but I...

SV3C 1080P Full HD Poe IP Camera, Bullet Outdoor Security Camera with 2.8MM-12MM Varifocal Lens

I The motion detection in these is useless. I have two of these at a remote property and tried out the motion sensing just to FTP a still photo.... I would get 100% false trigger or nothing at all when adjusting the sensitivity. I wouldn't depend on these for much in that regard. Otherwise...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

Update: I put the flashed wyze cam on its own AP with no other connected devices and I have had zero "connection restored" messages in BI since. Frame rate still moves around. Has anyone else had luck smoothing out the frame rate with this firmware flashed? I haven't looked into much as far as...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

I am seeing a lot of "signal restored" messages in BI also. Wireless sucks. Just for yucks I'm going to put the camera on its own dedicated wireless AP and see if that helps although there isn't really much on the AP it's connected to now. The frame rate varies wildly too, not totally sure why...

Wyze Cam - Usable with Blue Iris?

Just wanted to update the thread, I was able to get the camera up & running in BI. I couldn't pin down exactly why the flash to openipc wasn't working for me previously but I found an older SD card that was 16 gigs instead of the 32 gig I was trying to use and now I'm up & running. I don't...

Belden or Superior Essex Cat6 cable?

Another vote for Belden. I've pulled hundreds of thousands of feet it over my life.... I guess I wasn't the one paying for it either but I also know if you have the right catalog number for your application it will work well.

Has anyone successfully implemented this firmware on a Wyzecam v2 (as in what ships now)? I ask because I ordered one specifically for the purpose of trying the openipc firmware for v2 to use with BI but have not been able to get the camera to connect to any wifi router I have around after...

    Shielded cat6 cable

I think the point is that incorrect grounding is more likely to cause problems then trying to implement shielded Ethernet cable where it isn't needed... I can't speak for others here and what someone deems nessecary in their own home is definitely up to them.

    Shielded cat6 cable

I wasn't aware the OP was using the cable with the gear you outlined, in which case yeah, always do whatever the manufacturer tells you too. I'm not thaf familiar with ubiquity gear (I do have two switches from them, maybe I should look closer). My limited understanding of the 802.3 standards...

    Shielded cat6 cable

Sheilded cable should only drain at one side of the run, I think this is what was being asked? For your application I would land the drain at the end the NVR is near and bond that to the NVR ground. But really the best answer is what everyone is saying, use different cable.
