Blue Iris and Amazon Echo Show

Makes you wonder what's causing the latency. Maybe the Pi? However, I use a Pi with OctoPi on my 3D printer, with a camera, there's no more than maybe 500ms of latency.

Blue Iris and Amazon Echo Show

Anyone heard any updates on this? Just saw that yesterday Amazon announced the echo spot. Would be awesome to be able to ask it to see a camera when the door bell rings. I already use Alexa to set profiles occasionally. Being able to ask for video would be sweet.

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

I've noticed that in the last few versions, when I leave UI2 open at night, and I come into work the next day, I ALWAYS have to reload the page because the streams have turned into 0-1fps. Sometimes locked up completely . This is while viewing the H.264 stream. Seems to have something to do with...

Looking for another smtp host for sending emails from BI

If you are only sending to zoho, use their SMTP server. It won't allow you to relay (domains other than what they serve), but ANY SMTP server that hosts the domain you're sending to will allow you to use it to send to email addresses it hosts. Go to a command prompt Type "nslookup" Type "set...

Which video driver version for HD530 won't crash

That's strange. Not sure why the web site has that version number, but it's the right one. I copied that version number straight from device manager. Downloads for Intel® HD Graphics 530

Which video driver version for HD530 won't crash

.4531 definitely has the memory leak issue. Upgrade to 21.20.16.4542

BI memory leak on new machine

Works like a charm now. Had to get around Intel's lack of desire to install the latest driver, and Dell's inability to provide the latest driver, but now running driver version 21.20.16.4542 for the Intel HD 530, it's perfect. Thanks again.

Thanks, fenderman. You are a wealth of knowledge, and I greatly appreciate it!

BI memory leak on new machine

Yesterday I moved BI to a dedicated machine with an i5-6500 and 8GB RAM. Today I noticed some gaps in the timeline that I hadn't noticed before the move. I noticed in the BI log that it says it recovered from an unexpected shutdown, so I went into the event viewer and looked at the system logs...

    Bedside monitoring

Set up an Arduino that is hooked up to the BI server. Set it up to signal the arduino when there's motion, then have the arduino make a noise, flash a light, chamber a round in your AR... The possibilities are endless. The only problem is learning C and understanding arduino.

Any way to record a few seconds before the trigger?

Yeah, I don't see any difference with the pre-trigger set to 0 or 2, but then 3 of 5 of my cameras are always recording.

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

I threw this into my BI setup today to check it out, but got this error first, followed by a bunch of others. I could dig into the JS, but I figured I'd post here first. EDIT: Never mind. I first tried to use it in IE, because I've been using the ActiveX control for BI. It works fine in Chrome :D

    A few Blue Iris Questions

I hate IE, but the ActiveX control is a billion times better than the standard viewer AND the Java viewer (You could always install the Java viewer, but that would also mean installing java). It's worth using IE just for that. While I know that Ken has been toying with the idea of a client...

Increasing quality of multi-view from app/web

I definitely looked for threads before posting, but did not find anything that really detailed where these settings are. Also, the help file contains nothing about settings in this area. I literally walked through every mention of the word group in the help file looking for this. The reason I...

Increasing quality of multi-view from app/web

I've contacted Ken about the poor quality of the multi-camera view in the web browser and iOS app (individual cams look great). However, I'm not understanding the reply I got form him. Ken said, "How do you have the group image set on the group settings page? This is the gears icon beneath the...

    Blue Iris Support - reachable?

Ditto. I'm typically really critical of software and hardware (ask the CEO of Amcrest how much he hates my negative reviews on all his products), but I really didn't find much to complain about with BI. I installed it and within a few minutes I had it up and running. I seriously sat there...

    Ghosting and hardware acceleration

OK, I've got a question. A few days ago I turned on re-encode in order to eliminate the ghosting, temporarily. I do not know how, but today I updated to the latest version and was trying to test a few things, so I turned off re-encode on a couple cameras and now there's no ghosting. I mean...

    Blue Iris Support - reachable?

And obviously worth supporting. BI is, without a doubt, the best NVR setup I've used. I've been through like 7 piece of crap hardware NVRs, and have played with iSpy for years. This is far better than any of them.

    Blue Iris Support - reachable?

Definitely. Though $60 for a year of priority support is chump change for work stuff. Might be worth it just for the first year. Thanks!!

    Blue Iris Support - reachable?

I was looking around for info/pricing on the priority support. Might be worth purchasing for the work setup. I wasn't able to find any pricing. Any idea how much it costs?

Getting back to multi-camera view in viewer

I emailed support days ago and haven't heard back, so I'll see if anyone here knows. When in the viewer, if I double-click a point in time on the timeline, I get the multi-camera view of that moment in time (I have 4 cameras, and 3 constantly recording). When I double-click an individual camera...

I wish... I emailed them Monday this week with a simple question and still have not received a response.

    Ghosting and hardware acceleration

What's crazy is that I tried that too. Started on the main OS drive, which has a ton of space, then moved everything to a different drive. I also monitored the drive itself and never saw excessive write times nor an out of control queue length. Write speed is around 250KB/sec per stream, and...

    Ghosting and hardware acceleration

There's nothing running on that server. It's a fresh install of Server 2012, hooked directly to our main PoE switch which all the cameras are connected to. There is no software installed on it, and I've got an Amcrest NVR (pile of junk) that has been recording these cameras for some time and it...

    Ghosting and hardware acceleration

TDP of the Xeon (E3-1230) is only 80W, so not much more than an i5-6500. The machine uses around 35-45W at idle, based on what the UPS is saying. I'm running a few Amcrest and a grandstream at home, then at work hikvision and grandstream. I don't think it has to do with the camera settings...

    Ghosting and hardware acceleration

Yes, thank you. I've found all the other threads you've posted on about ghosting, and tried it all until the hardware accel fixed my issue at home. All other settings, including matching iframe to fps, increasing receive buffer, etc., had absolutely no effect. At home I'm running 4 cameras all...

    Ghosting and hardware acceleration

I've just set up Blue Iris at home and work. It's working perfectly at home. I had ghosting issues, but once I turned on hardware acceleration it disappeared. I can't get rid of it at work, and I believe it's because the computer it's on doesn't support Intel HD hardware acceleration. It's a...
