Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

Yeah, I figured out pretty quickly that it wasn't it. H_MOTOR aside, I'm getting desperate. There's just nothing left to try...I've metered everything I can see. The next step is to start tearing things even further apart - I was trying to avoid that step!

Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

Thought it might be this but these all have power on them, ranging from 2-7.9VDC..

Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP

Any suggestions on where to look for the serial header? I have a SD6AL830V-HNI and Dahua claims it should be next to the microSD slot but clearly that isn't the case. I don't see any other 4 pin headers/holes, but this thing is packed full of PCBs with the laser module and all.. At $1400...

    A SD8A840-HNF-PA 4K 40X PTZ Demo

I used a Dahua TS-PFS4206-4P-96 with this particular one. Running a Ubiquiti Powerbeam and the cam with plenty to spare: That's no IR, idle, no wiper so it can and does spike quite a bit higher. The cam itself comes with a gigantic power supply so it can also be powered that way, at the...

    A SD8A840-HNF-PA 4K 40X PTZ Demo

The original (pre YT) was h.265 (4k/30fps/5760Kbps) just FYI.

Andy, do you have the DH/NTSC version of this?

    SD6AL245U-HNI laser IR noise

Happy to report that this is simply a distance issue - The laser IR is just insanely powerful. Even at a distance I can see the noise unless I manually turn down the zoom compensation...

    SD6AL245U-HNI laser IR noise

I just received a SD6AL245U-HNI (fast shipping as always from Andy!) and was a bit surprised when testing the IR. I'll let the pics speak for themselves, but clearly the laser IR is interacting with objects and/or the sensor in a way that creates a lot noise. The pattern reminds me of what...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I was finally able to update my PTZ firmware! In the past I've used Chrome without any issues for FW updates but decided to try IE just to see if it made a difference, and sure enough...It's either IE itself or it's interacting with the plugin in some way that Chrome wasn't. Using the latest...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Looney, were you able to successfully flash V3.04.09.R.170905 for the PTZ with V2.600.0000000.10.R.170906 for the firmware? I'm beginning to think my mismatch may have something to do with my web server crashes. TFTP is about the only way I can think to fix it...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but has anyone has issues with the web server crashing? I have two of these and both crash at the same time so it doesn't appear to be defective hardware. This started a few firmware revisions ago. Since that time I have hard reset both but still...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

I have found the new firmware to be unstable - After a few days the web server crashes entirely...Haven't tried hard resetting yet (trying to avoid that due to the amount of config I have in there).

    SMTP timezone locked at GMT+8?

This has been fixed with more recent firmware releases - Of the 4 cams I have now, only 1 still has this behavior (SD59225U-HNI now works, IPC-HDW5231R-Z always worked, IPC-HFW8232E-Z remains broken)...

    SMTP timezone locked at GMT+8?

Anyone ever find a workaround for this? 3 of the 4 Dahua cams I have are locked at UTC+8 for SMTP...Obviously a firmware issue, but figured there may be a workaround (checking/unchecking something in a certain order, etc...)

Just as followup to this, received the new camera from Andy and it works great!! If you're hesitant to order from him for any reason, have no fear about his warranty - clearly he stands behind what he sells...

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

If you flash the "general" firmware, you have to TFTP back to the Dahua firmware, just FYI for anyone experimenting...I discovered this the hard way :)

    SSH attack from 46.105.255.96

My step-son (who lives in another state) and I began receiving SSH attacks from this IP. The only thing we have in common between networks is that we both recently added Dahua IP cameras. Both of us are running SSH on different non-standard ports. It's possible that this is just a prolific...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Andy is sending me a new one - He's been great to work with! The $81.05 shipping back (and yes, I shopped around everywhere - USPS was cheapest) is a bit painful, but the cost of doing this kind of business...

EMailed him already so just waiting for his response - I'm ordering another cam and some parts from him so we may be able to combine some of it at least. I don't recall the exact IP, only noticing that it was not default when I couldn't get into it and did the ARP scan.

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Yeah, been there done that with all of it - Power is via a Ubiquiti 48 port Edgeswitch (PoE+ on all 48 ports), even tested standalone plugged straight into the switch with a different cable. Also have tried numerous firmware revisions, without success. The packet loss explains why TFTPing...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Reseating my camera module didn't help anything - The optics in the module are all internal - The front of the camera is nothing more than a "window" so even if it were off somehow, it probably wouldn't make a difference. I did it anyway, and no luck. It's also dropping packets, so there is...

The plugs are 34.925mm (inside) (1 3/8 inch) - Dahua has detailed drawings on all of their mounts if you search for it - I think the back of the corner mount was 35mm...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

That may have the best shot at fixing it - I'll give it a try tomorrow... I TFTP'd in DH_SD-Eos_EngSpnFrn_N_Stream3_V2.420.0001.0.R.20161220 with cfgRestore and oddly enough, it didn't get rid of the Life Stats, although it did reset them...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

It's not a location issue - I can zoom in on anything at infinite focus and get the same results. Just picked the stop sign randomly. It only occurs at infinite focus. With the "Life Statistics" oddity, I wonder if there is a way to wipe out any hidden settings/config via telnet. Both the...

He must have explained the issue incorrectly to you then. I'm upset only because I provided that information solely for him and a "Dahua engineer". Next thing I know I see images from my camera online. I've tried everything mentioned above with no improvement. It's as if the cam is allowing...
