Happy to report that this is simply a distance issue - The laser IR is just insanely powerful. Even at a distance I can see the noise unless I manually turn down the zoom compensation...

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but has anyone has issues with the web server crashing? I have two of these and both crash at the same time so it doesn't appear to be defective hardware. This started a few firmware revisions ago. Since that time I have hard reset both but still...

I have found the new firmware to be unstable - After a few days the web server crashes entirely...Haven't tried hard resetting yet (trying to avoid that due to the amount of config I have in there).

This has been fixed with more recent firmware releases - Of the 4 cams I have now, only 1 still has this behavior (SD59225U-HNI now works, IPC-HDW5231R-Z always worked, IPC-HFW8232E-Z remains broken)...

Anyone ever find a workaround for this? 3 of the 4 Dahua cams I have are locked at UTC+8 for SMTP...Obviously a firmware issue, but figured there may be a workaround (checking/unchecking something in a certain order, etc...)

Just as followup to this, received the new camera from Andy and it works great!! If you're hesitant to order from him for any reason, have no fear about his warranty - clearly he stands behind what he sells...

If you flash the "general" firmware, you have to TFTP back to the Dahua firmware, just FYI for anyone experimenting...I discovered this the hard way :)

The plugs are 34.925mm (inside) (1 3/8 inch) - Dahua has detailed drawings on all of their mounts if you search for it - I think the back of the corner mount was 35mm...
