Hi Fenderman - If you're referring to the Image Format on the Camera Properties - Video tab - it has 1920x1080, same as the camera setup. AOI and Anamorphic are non checked. Thanks.

That was it and I would *never* have thought of it. The cams are not PTZ so I ignore that setting but it was selected to one of three groups. Under interrogation (and lots of hugs) the granddaughter admitted to "just looking" at the cameras earlier. As usual Fenderman, you are the best.

Anyone have any suggestions on this? BI has been amazingly stable on my system and I have 10 cameras going. Out of nowhere tonight the screen now only shows 4 of them. Checking with my iPhone app all 10 are there and live. Scratching my head on this one. Maybe the reg settings are messed up...

In my case I put in a second PoE switch and split the load between the two. Things have since sttled down. Of course that could be temporary. Who knows :-)

Pulling the connector and reconnecting at the camera restored the video. The POE unit is a top-of-the-line that's feeding only 2/3 of its rated output...but I still somewhat suspect it. Things age (like me) and poop out sometimes. I'm going to drop in a spare on the network and split the load...

You're correct, thanks. There is no access through the browser URL. An IP scanner shows that address as "dead". Thinking back I had tried this a couple of times when the other cameras dropped off with the same results but the camera than came back on its own later. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looking at BI with my iPhone app shows one camera off-line (no signal). This one has been down for about 12 hours. I'll fuss with the cable and see what happens. I'm suspecting the POE unit may be getting tired since almost every one of the 9 cameras has exhibited...

Fenderman to the rescue! Thanks. That wasn't covered (or I couldn't find it) in the BI help file. Setting the temp profile time to the long number seems best in case I have a reboot. Much appreciated.

I have a vacation profile set up. PC is on a fresh UPS. BIOS is set to restart after a power failure (in case it outlasts the UPS). Password removed so it will boot directly to the desktop. BI is set (and tested) to start up automatically after a reboot. Check for BI updates is *off* so it won't...

The only real solution I've found is turn off the IR lights in the camera and install an external IR several feet away. The spiders generally will be attracted to that one and leave the camera alone.

If you are running anti-virus software, make sure it isn't trying to read the streams. Blueiris.exe needs to be in your exceptions list. Read the HELP files on anti-virus for more info.

If you got a bunch of old rags or towels, just thrown them over the reflecting objects.

I suppose there could be a flaw in the IR filter that moves into place, but that would be the first time I've ever heard of it. Can you move the camera? Take a night picture where it's presently aimed then move it maybe 45 degrees to the right - take another. Then 45-degrees to the opposite side...

Either you have a flaw (doubtful) in the lens or that's lens flare. When you checked the dome did you make sure the black foam surrounding the lens was **firmly** against the dome? If it isn't they'll be some light leak. Also, is that "thing" there during daylight or dusk?

Make sure the foam circular light blocker around the lens is pressed firmly on the dome. If not, regular light and IR can leak in.

Now you're cooking. If you go with the whoop-whoop, don't tell your neighbors. That thing going off at 3 am is undoubtedly going to upset them. If you're lucky you'll only need to do it once and the how-and-who responsible will always be a mystery. Love it when a plan comes together.

This may not be much help but I remember seeing units for cars that will beep (or blow the horn) if a person touches the vehicle. It works on some sort of capacitance discharge. I've seen them in action and they are pretty good. But I don't remember a brand. It'll take some Google chops to chase...

Little punks like that are all cowards. I did that once to some kids coming on my property late at night. They always walked by on the other side of the street after that. Post some video of them jumping out of their skin when it goes off :nuts:

I can't figure out if you're looking up or down or where the window is in relation to the world around it. How about some context? If it's actually one story UP then why the need?

Why not hook up a temp "whoop-whoop" alarm and hit it next time you see them next to a car. That should probably be the last time they get on your driveway. Just a thought...
