    Camera Audo Connection

You install the mic to the audio jacks at the camera not the nvr.

    Dahua NVR and external microphone

Yes the audio Jacks on the nvr are for two way talk. If your camera doesn't have built in mic or built in audio Jacks, then the camera has no audio support. Replace it with a camera that has audio support.

    Mailbox camera.

Ring alarm system was my best solution. Door sensor in the mailbox triggers when opened. Alert goes to phone and or audio alert on base if wanted. I've caught a few mail thieves with this (also have an external ptz camera). I had to put a ring relay in the middle, but has been flawless at...

Can I Playback quad view in sync on Dahua NVR?

Trying to do all of that remotely will always be problematic. Tasks like that should be done onsight if possible.

    Alarm Out -- Not working

On the nvr live view there is also a "bell" icon in upper right corner that turns alarms off or on if you click it.

    Alarm Out -- Not working

A note on some issues I've had in the past with alarm outs. Double check to make sure that the NVR wasn't accidentally "disarmed" (the little red bell icon). Same on the APP. There's a couple of different areas where the alarms can be accidentally disarmed/disabled. Individual cameras as...

Dahua 4216-16P NVR questions on new setup

I mainly use SmartPSS for remote settings management for my customers. I don't use it for much of anything else, due to the issues that you have discovered. Playback is the worse for me. You have to search out for the day, but I believe you can filter it by motion. Much cleaner on the NVR...

Dahua 4216-16P NVR questions on new setup

I've rarely had any issues controlling cameras or setting through the NVR and it is my preferred way. I install a lot of these, and is a much quicker and easier way for me. I also keep everything updated. Every once in a while I'll get one of the cameras getting wonky, and not syncing the...

    Dahua P2P Issues

Spectrum "generally" uses 192.168.1.1 subnet. If your cameras were set to 192.168.1.xxx you should be fine. As far as your original P2P connection issues, if you go into the camera settings (webview), under "network", then P2P, where you enabled it, it should show "online" or "offline". If it...

    Review-OEM IPC-T5241H-AS-PV 2mp AI active deterrence cam

I was able to upgrade to the newest 2.82 firmware from the dahua site just fine. It added the ability to use the audio linkage and light under general motion detection. Very nice feature! FYI, I upgraded via chrome browser. Note, the zip file has multiple .bin files, I used the...

Is there a way to adjust DMSS notification trigger between alerts?

I'm curious as well. I have many clients with Dahua systems and I can't figure out how to limit the notifications. When they are triggered, it's non-stop alerts until the motion stops. I'm also wondering if there's a way to "snooze" the alerts on the app for specific amount of time? Sent from...

    Review-OEM IPC-T3241-ZAS 2mp AI Lite series Varifocal

I am curious as well as to if the "AI" features have improved on this camera, as they were pretty poor when I originally tested this camera a few months back. Does human and vehicle detection work as expected? Thanks

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

If simplicity is what you want, you'll want to enable the p2p function on your NVR. Then it will use the similar easy "cloud" access that your used to. VPN would be the preferred secure way of doing it. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-850F using Tapatalk

    Review-OEM IPC-T3241-ZAS 2mp AI Lite series Varifocal

I finally had the time to test this camera out. I bought it specifically for the SMD features. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, as there doesn't seem to be any difference from standard MD vs SMD. Has this really not been worked out yet on this camera?

    Dahua NVR alarm out cycle

I'm in the process of building an alert system that can be manually triggered via the dahua app (gdmss) through the NVR. The scenario would be: a customer is alerted that a person or vehicle is present, the customer pulls up the camera via app on phone, to verify, and then could trigger the...

UI3 on Fire TV stick shutting off?

Personally, I would/do leave the TV on 24/7. Some would argue there's less "wear and tear" . I've been running 4 32"-42" LCD monitors non-stop for a few years and have had no failures. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-850F using Tapatalk

Second viewing station for under $50!

You need an SD card to run the OS on the pi. I'm sure you could get away with the minimum size. As far as RAM goes I'm not sure how much is actually needed, but it will run best on pi 3 or above. I have one running on a pie 2b which seems to do okay. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

    Nanostation M5 with Hikvision Cameras

For your Ubiquiti radio question, 3 nanostations in STA mode (one @ each camera), and 1 nanostation in AP mode @ the building. This will bridge everything together, assuming you have everything configured right and have power figured out. FYI, if you power the cameras separately (not POE)...
