Go to your NVR settings using external monitor. Menu -> Configuration -> Live view -> General ........... choose "Video Output - VGA" and select "Live View Mode - 2+2" or whatever you want to see in your zero channel RTSP stream.

New firmware works faster on G1 series (no 1-2 sec lag on NVR when changing main channel views on cameras) but motion detection is broken. Even set to 20% there are alarms when nothing moves.
Aliexpress and HIK site says it is h.264 but after firmware update Version: V5.4.8 (2017-02-13) it actually support h.265 and h.265+

There is a good comparison of 5mp turret 2355 and 5mp bullet 2055. Turret has better EXIR light and performs much better at night.
I've tried adding Dahua 4300s to Hikvision DS7608NI-K2 and it did not work even using ONVIF protocol. What protocol did you use and can you use PTZ controls of this camera at your NVR ?

I've tried using Tiny Cam Pro and android tablet (4 RTSP streams with 4k each, 20fps, 8Mbit) and it was lagging so much (1 fps in 3-4 seconds). Don't think 1080p will be better.
I think buying NVR with POE ports is a mistake. You can save some $ and buy NVR without POE output and buy POE switch for cameras. Each camera will have its own IP in your network and you can easily access it. Also you don't have to plug cameras to NVR which gives you the opportunity to put NVR...
alastairstevenson, thank you so much. I've missed there is a button in web playback interface where you can choose what layer (moving, line crossing, intrusion detection) to show additionally to continuous recording. Thanks a lot.
Changing camera resolution from 2688*1520 to 1920*1080 makes camera to use only part of its CMOS sensor size and on output you will see only centered part of the whole picture from your cam. It's like changing cam from 2.8mm to 4-6mm
