Anyone attempt to use FLIR Secure with Dahua NVR

Thanks for the info but doesn't really help or answer my question.

    Howdy!

@mat200 Do you have issues with the Dahuas not displaying properly on your TV that is connected to the NVR? Anytime the Dahua is not the primary camera (when in a 1-16 camera view or even 1-8 view with 1 large image and surrounding smaller images) they just show black boxes but I can see the...

Anyone attempt to use FLIR Secure with Dahua NVR

I am helping a friend build his camera setup and I am looking to leverage getting some Dahua products from @EMPIRETECANDY . I have a Lorex NVR and use the FLIR Secure mobile app. The free version works fine (could it be better? Sure! But that could be said about a lot of things). I am looking at...

    IR Illuminator without visible glow

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has found any inexpensive IR illuminators that don't emit a visible glow. Just a bit of background, our baby cam broke several months ago so I got a replacement camera (to be used with the same monitor). But the new camera makes an IR halo around the image. So I...

    Raspbery Pi2 Camera Monitor w/Rpisurv

Great write up. My wife asked me the other day "is there a way we can view the cameras on the TV in our bedroom?" (the NVR is connected to the TV in our living room). I thought about it and said I could probably make it happen with a raspberry pi (before seeing this thread). But the way I was...

    Howdy!

Here are some pics that @EMPIRETECANDY requested. I have not finished my install yet - been a bit busy and the cold weather has made it more of a chore. I still have more cams to install and settings to adjust.

    Howdy!

I was planning to go over my build once I finished everything but I guess I can get started. I ordered the following NVR and cameras as a kit: 4K NVR with 16 Channels and FLIR Secure Remote Connectivity , https://www.lorextechnology.com/images/products/LNB8111B/600x400/LNB8111B-M1.png . The kit...

Got it working. Connected my laptop directly to the NVR which allowed me to access the camera like any other device on my network.

@drunkpenguin I don't have a POE switch, the cams are connected directly to the NVR. So how do I go about this?

@mat200 , did you have trouble configuring your dahua starlights to work with the Lorex NVR? The Lorex cams work immediately out of the box but I am getting a "conf.LoginErrorNo-18" when I connect the starlight...

Hi @[29441:@mat200] , you have Dahua cams on a Lorex NVR correct? Did you have any trouble with setup? I got 2 of the Dahua starlights from Andy and the Lorex NVR kit but I am getting the following error "conf.LoginErrorNo-18".

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I made my purchases and i'll post some some images in the coming weeks once everything is set up!

I already emailed Andy about it today, @actran , haha. But the starlight is the 2MP and the Lorex I listed is 4MP. Also I am not sure if the Dahuas have Audio like the Lorex - I already asked Andy about it.

    Howdy!

@mat200 got me pretty interested in that 6x4MP camera package; even though I don't think I can utilize that many bullet cameras, I may be able to sell them to some friends/family. I did go ahead and order 2 of the 2mp Starlights from @EMPIRETECANDY . I haven't purchased this...

Have others confirmed the compatibility between a Lorex system and say the Dahua Starlight Varifocal cameras?
  20. D

    Howdy!

Thanks @mat200 I saw the same set up on the Lorex site with that promo code. I think a couple of bullet cameras would work for my home but I need a wider FOV for many of the places I plan to put my cams.

OK Cool. Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks @looney2ns and @actran . I have read through both of those threads already. Yes my trim is currently a beige color but eventually I plan to paint it some shade of grey so I think black would match. But even if I get white cameras now, I think I can just paint the housing in the same grey...

Thanks GW. I am an IT guy (I work in software development) so I can see this becoming a hobby also. Also why I would probably enjoy building the entire set up myself. Is sunlight ever an issue for any of these cameras (irect exposure during sunset/sunrise?

Hi everyone. New member from Dallas, TX. I have been spending the last few months researching the type of camera setup that will best fit my needs and my budget. I stumbled upon this forum a while back and have read through several posts. I still haven't finalized exactly what I plan to purchase...
