Any POE Cameras for Blue iris with an internal POE connection?

The difference is drilling a 1/4 inch hole compared to a 3/4" hole through a 12" brick wall.. big building.. I talked with them tonight though and we're going to just use 5442's and boxes if needed.. thought about trying to wrap the cord up in the empty spaces of the camera base as well. We'll...

Any POE Cameras for Blue iris with an internal POE connection?

It's a fairly nice public location so I'm going to be taking slack if it looks to dorky :) but it's just really hard to beat the performance/cost of a 5442. Was always thinking a non-corded model would be sweet and of course when I came across one it's proprietary and $$. Just checking in with...

Any POE Cameras for Blue iris with an internal POE connection?

I actually have one of those in an office. The domes have always given me too many reflection issues or the picture seems clearer in a bullet or turret.. I'm thinking I'm just going to offer this client Andy's 5442's or 2431's with a junction box and see if they think that will suffice. This...

Any POE Cameras for Blue iris with an internal POE connection?

They're quite expensive and I was thinking you have to hook them up to the unifi dvr since they're proprietary, and then use rtsp or something to make them work with blue iris? I'm used to the dahua/hik price range that are plug and play with blue iris lol unless I read that info wrong on the...

Any POE Cameras for Blue iris with an internal POE connection?

Good Day All, Are there any good cameras for blue iris that hook up the way Unifi G4 cameras do internally? I've mainly only used Dahua/Hik cams for Blue iris. Love the cameras, but I need some low profile cameras running through brick, so don't want to have ugly boxes that the cameras are...

    Best Value Long Distance Camera

Yeah PTZ is enabled in BI. Zoom works fine, but the focus buttons don't change anything.. Minor annoyance since I won't often change my zoom.. assuming the focus holds fine... Don't see any sort of reginal focus settings in Dahua's settings.. all in all seems to be a decent zoom camera for the...

    Best Value Long Distance Camera

I got the Loryta one of Amazon but here's the 5241-Z12E fully zoomed on a house 2000ft away at sunrise, so it should work great for my needs later on at 700ft. My only complaint with this camera so far is when fully zoomed, auto focus is garbage. Had to switch to manual.. Could be because of the...

    Best Value Long Distance Camera

I think I'm going to go with a 5241-Z12E. Those DORI numbers do seem to give it the best hope although the pixel count is low... I do have PTP bridges, a solar panel, and semi batteries laying around, but IDK I feel like all that hassle for this since there won't be power for awhile. Maybe some...

    Best Value Long Distance Camera

I guess by varifocal I meant zoom. Never been a big fan of cameras with the pan and tilt options since they're generally massive and like to wonder during power outages. I'll look into that guy though for starters. Thanks!

    Best Value Long Distance Camera

I'm one of those cheap Dahua/Hikvision camera kinda guys. Have over 40 running on BI5.. I'm hoping to put up a house about 700ft from our shop. Curious on any recommendations for a decent but cheap varifocal camera that could keep an eye on construction from about 700ft. I'd prefer a varifocal...

Hide disabled cameras in camera groups

Hello, for some reason, since a recent update, my disabled cameras are showing up in the android app. I went into the app settings and set it to not show disabled cameras. That worked for the main camera list but if I go into a camera group, those disabled cameras are still there. (mainly...

    Camera Names in UI3

Alrighty, I'll play with that, appreciate it. I guess I'm noticing something that's making this a little trickier in my scenario, is I have a handful of cameras that are inverted. Makes things a little wonky when doing the "scale to fill" but I still think I like that better than standard so...

    Camera Names in UI3

So if I do as you say, I can disable the "camera names" but my cameras stay the same size. There's still a big void between all my cameras where the names were. Is there a way to get my cameras to fill the screen better, like they did before this ui3 update? I tried downgrading to an older...

5.2.6 - April 22, 2020 - You can now skip updates until changes have been validated as stable by those on the more-frequent update track

Ironically this is the first update I did that failed and froze BI on the first attempt.. maybe that's a bad omen but I'm sure I'll still always install the latest and greatest lol. Second attempt went smooth. I check BI enough I always just update when I open the GUI.

    Blue Iris 5 Alerts Location?

Excellent, Thanks for the clarity. Must be something I've never paid attention to till BI5.

    Blue Iris 5 Alerts Location?

Quite possible I'm overlooking something simple, but ever since making the BI5 jump.... I can't figure out where my alerts are stored. I attached a picture of some different things I checked. When I go to the "save" location it's empty... If I right click an alert the "file location" is grayed...

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

updated.. Well, I finally had a little time this morning to kill so made the bi5 jump to 5.0.2.4 via an RDP session. As has happened to others, everything went really well and quick until I uninstalled BI4. Randomly after uninstalling I had an image of my mouse pointer in the middle of the...

    Blue Iris UI3

Forgive me if this is old news but my brother just pointed this out and I confirmed that when playing back a clip in reverse, the video's progression bar keeps moving forward. In other words.. if your going in reverse, pause it, and are counting on the progression bar to know where you are in...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

Something minor I found interesting... With my setup... The more cameras I put on CUDA the more my total Watts consumed goes down, do to my CPU usage dropping. Moral of the story in my scenario at least... If your gonna have one of these power hungry cards installed.. you might as well use it to...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

not all my cams are at 1080.. I still have some 4mp and even an 8mp currently running with CUDA. I've spent some time on the blue iris helper, but once I get things running the way I'd like I'll def be spending more time on there in the future. That database has definitely been nice!

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

I was hovering around 180w with my old radeon r7 With the EVGA 1050ti and using about as much as I can via CUDA about 200w So kinda surprised it's only showing about 20w more... This system isn't very efficient but I plan on cranking my cameras back up. From what I've been able to tell.. I...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

I meant the cheapest 1050 ti I could find =) But I needed a decent 4k GPU anyway so decided to throw it in our camera server to play with. I would definitely say the bigger the BI system is, the less impressive CUDA encoding seems compared to processor core power. Like I said earlier jumping up...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

I needed a GPU for a build anyway, so found me the cheapest, used evga 1050ti I could find and put it in my server to test. I just flipped to use CUDA in settings and left it this weekend. When I got back around to checking I realized Blue Iris went back to just using the CPU. I assume the GPU...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

As a follow up.. for now I ended up just doing an in place update of my 8 core 1.6GHz CPU to a E5-2658 v2 10 core 2.4GHz processor (finding one on eBay for $120 convinced me) and WOW... Of course I still have my cameras somewhat on lower settings, but I was surprised that it cut my CPU usage...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

I had asked Ken awhile ago his thoughts on using CUDA or intel for acceleration and he just replied now... this is part of his answer "My personal experience with Nvidia has been excellent ... there are only very limited support instances. Intel decoding on the other hand seems problematic ...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

Yes you read that right.... 1.6GHz.. def blame some of my issues on that =) Anyways, i9-9900k was my first choice. I'd assume my only hope to get that to work well with so many cameras would be to switch all my cameras back to H264 and invest a little more in storage eh? It's the way I'd...

Another Blue Iris CPU post... opinion

I know this is an over talked subject but wouldn't mind a quick opinion. I have a.. well.. the system listed in my signature and I really need to upgrade the CPU... my CPU.. although a 8core/16thread cpu is some cheap Chinese server version or something and is only clocked at 1.6GHZ. I'm...

    Blue Iris Update Helper (BiUpdateHelper)

I was using the helper tool to compare my system as I'm looking to upgrade, and it took me a second to figure out the MP/s goes off the "max frame rate" setting. For awhile I thought maybe my system went crazy since cameras were showing as high as 39fps when only set to 8fps lol not sure how BI...

Stay with Hik or switch to Dahua.... ipc-hdw443c-a vs ds-2cd2342wd-i

I have setup probably around 50 Hikvision cameras.. Have come to love the ds-2cd2342wd-i turrets, and I was getting them for $55. Here recently, due to china having to play fair, those prices have jumped a ton. I have never owned a Dahua, but have another area I am going to need to add cameras...
