    Connecting through VPN

I've got BI working good now. Got a VPN setup through my home router. Been trying to get BI working on my phone to finally be able to look at the cameras while I'm away from home. I still can not connect when I'm not on the same network, ie, while I'm away. What VPN do you use? How do you...

    Initial Setup on Android

I'm trying to get Blue Iris setup on my phone and tablet. Followed the instructions from a few different places, but I believe it is stuck with the port forwarding. It will connect from both the phone and tablet if they are connected to the same network that the computer is, but over 4g it is...

Adding Camera on a Separate Network

I believe that is pretty much what the access point mode is. And that is what worked.

Adding Camera on a Separate Network

It did not work. However, the switch idea made me think, and I changed the router to act as an access point instead, so the camera is now part of the same network. As soon as I finished that, Blue Iris found it right away and had no problem connecting.

    Reolink camera will not add.

I am talking about the Reolink Client software on my PC. In the settings for the camera, in encoding, the H264 profile had to be changed to Baseline. I changed that in the reolink software, started Blue Iris again and it worked. I don't see any reason why that would have made any difference...

Adding Camera on a Separate Network

The camera isn't in the shop. It is outside on my pheasant shed looking down the driveway between the shop and the house. Too far away to get a signal from the main router in the house, but plenty close enough for the shop router. Not hard wired in. Here is the explanation for the cheap...

Adding Camera on a Separate Network

It is the W2 1080p outdoor. The only reason we got the cameras in the first place is they were cheap, and my wife wanted to be able to watch her litter of puppies at all times. So the cheap was the most important part. Hopefully we can keep them working for a while. I don't need cameras for...

Adding Camera on a Separate Network

I'll remove the port forwarding in the morning, and re-read through the noobs threads, I admit I skimmed them searching for what I needed. The other router is in my shop. I buried an ethernet cable from the house to the shop. The shop router is directly connected to the house router by...

Adding Camera on a Separate Network

Trying to setup Blue Iris to see if it will work for me. I have a home network. With a second router in another building connected by ethernet. I have 5 cheap cameras; wansview, reolink, and amcrest. 4 of the 5 are connected directly to the first router, and one wansview is connected to the...

    Reolink camera will not add.

Got the Reolink working. It was one little setting, that I had to change with the Reolink software first, before adding.

    Reolink camera will not add.

Well the forwarding didn't work for the other camera. Back to the drawing board.

    Reolink camera will not add.

I'm testing out Blue Iris, because I have 3 different brands of cameras and would like to view them all in one place. Through many instructions, how to videos, and these threads I've got 3 of 5 cameras working. My Reolink, which it finds on the IP search, says "No Signal", while I can view it...
