where is the best place to get the firmware for a DS-2DF8C842IXS-AELW ? mine has a bit of orney streak in it lately

Yeah, you're on T2 (same as me), which doesn't get any more updates. 5.5.800 is the last official firmware (not sure why you're on 5.5.801). Try it from here - DS-2DF8C842IXS-AELW(T2)

Are you sure it's T5 and not T2? What's your current firmware version? As for hue changes, your SVC might be on or you have heavy packet loss on your network.

    SD8A820WA-HNF 4/3 Sensor Cam Arrived

Good question. If somebody can find me a 4K PTZ camera with a good sensor and a 50mbps feed, I'll grab it right away. I have a Hikvision 1080p PTZ beach cam - even at 15mbps (maximum possible bitrate and "high" quality) I can see heavy artifacts on waves or crowds during direct sunlight.

    SD8A820WA-HNF 4/3 Sensor Cam Arrived

it’s not only the bitrate, it’s the compression quality too. Good compression require alot of cpu power which ptz cameras simply do not have. It can be compensated with higher bitrate, but having 16mbps for a proper 4k is simply not enough.

    SD8A820WA-HNF 4/3 Sensor Cam Arrived

14mbps for 4k? Well that’s a shame. i wonder how bad the compression is on complicated sceneries (like big moving crowds)

Mic Humming / Issues on Hikvision IP PTZ 2DE7184-A

According to the sound, you clearly have a ground loop problem. Anyways, this thread is 3 years old. I also had a microphone humming issue (solved): SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

SOLVED. So the problem was that I was using the same power supply to power the camera AND the microphone. Initially I had only POE and I was hoping that I could use it to power both the camera and microphone (with a POE splitter and a 12v-to-9v adapter). But turns out that is not a good idea...

SOLVED: Do not upgrade to 5.6.0!!! Much worser exposure/focus performance

It's impossible to downgrade from 5.6.0 via tftp/web or serial. There are also no known tools which would allow to modify the firmware headers to let it be downgraded. Trust me, I tried everything. In the end, my problem was solved by Hikvision (they replaced my camera for free) I contacted...

SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

Little update - I hooked up a 9V battery to power the microphone and all the noise is gone. I'll try to get a dedicated 220V-9V adapter for the microphone and see if it works.

SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

I use a unpowered external microphone (Dotworkz KT-MIC) which became powered with the help of this manual that was sent by the microphone manufacturer: So what I'm doing is I'm using a 12V external adapter. The plus (positive) wire is feeding the camera and the microphone (with the help of...

SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

Wow, that's really weird. Why would the amps matter? The mic isn't using that much anyways. Perhaps the first adapter was bad? Do you power the camera from the same adapter?

Can't find RS-232 port on my Hikvision PTZ, any suggestions?

Yep, turned out you guys were right. I had to disassemble the side parts which then gave me access to another set of screws which finally gave me access to the second board. Thank you so much for your help!

SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

That's a very interesting observation and does make sense. However, the microphone is pretty far from the camera and I can't hear the fan with my ears. So my guess is that even if there is one, could the fan be sending out electrical interference instead?

SOLVED: Hikvision microphone static noise/humming which starts right after the boot sequence is done

I own a Hikvision DS-2DE4225IW-DE PTZ camera. I decided to connect an external microphone to it and noticed electric noise/humming coming through it. At first I thought that it was my faulty wiring of the microphone. However, I've also noticed that there is no noise during the booting process...

Hikvision latest firmware locked the serial interface completely

Hikvision support suggested that I tried downgrading via serial and even sent me the old firmware. Fucking idiots.

SOLVED: Do not upgrade to 5.6.0!!! Much worser exposure/focus performance

Update: I hooked ethernet up to the camera directly (not via router) and hikvision's TFTP server at least tried sending the old (5.5.3) firmware to the camera, however the camera reboots and is still on 5.6.0. So no luck. The RS232 (serial) interface is asking for some *.bin file (instead of...

Hikvision latest firmware locked the serial interface completely

So I just tried hooking up to my PTZ camera through the serial cable to do a downgrade from 5.6.0 (because 5.6.0 has massive problems with autofocus and autoexposure) and looks like Hikvision completely blocked the serial interface as well. Here is what happens if i type 55555 and 66666: It's...

Can't find RS-232 port on my Hikvision PTZ, any suggestions?

There is nothing underneath the motherboard. The only thing that goes from the motherboard is the big cable in the middle which goes deep into the PTZ housing, which looks like it's the PTZ control. Getting deep into the camera housing would be too hard (it will require to take the whole camera...

Can't find RS-232 port on my Hikvision PTZ, any suggestions?

I own a DS-2DE4225IW-DE. I uploaded the 5.6.0 firmware (which is a mess). Now I want to try to downgrade via RS-232, but I can't find it anywhere on the motherboard. I wonder if it's the JP4 which doesn't have a port. Anyone seen this before?

SOLVED: Do not upgrade to 5.6.0!!! Much worser exposure/focus performance

One interesting thing that I've noticed is that Hikvision is sending out a ipv6 router solicitation request while still being attached to 192.0.0.64 (much much earlier than it starts asking for ipv4 DHCP). Perhaps it's some their new way of updating firmware via ipv6?

SOLVED: Do not upgrade to 5.6.0!!! Much worser exposure/focus performance

Wireshark shows only ARP requests (it's looking who has 192.168.1.128 and then 192.0.0.128 if I'm pinging it) coming from the camera. There are no UDP, TCP, ICMP or any other request originating from the camera apart from the ARP. So it's not even reaching the tftp level yet.

SOLVED: Do not upgrade to 5.6.0!!! Much worser exposure/focus performance

Thank you for joining this thread. I'm posting Wireshark dumps from the host machine. Looks like my camera is looking for 192.168.1.128, so I added 192.168.1.128 as a second IP to the VM (the first one is 192.0.0.128). But apart from ARP (camera looking for 192.168.1.128), nothing happens...
