OMG my friend you are a saint. That did it, I wasted most of my morning trying to get it to work but completly missed that setting. Now if you can be so kind as to point me towards the newest/sable version of the firmware please? I found v5.5.150 on the uk portal - should I go with that?

Hello, I just picked up my brand new DS-2CD2386G2-IU. It has a built in mic but I am getting no audio coming out. iVMS4200 says error opening audio stream and I am getting no audio through rtsp viewing through VLC. Everything is a default settings with nothing changed. Any ideas please?

Here you go, not sure if this is the optimal way to take a picture. Its from the rtsp view in VLC. I haven't changed any of the image settings - they are standard with the res, fps, and bitrate bumped to max.

No there are 2 LEDs below the camera on mine.

Just got the triangle warning fix from Andy and applied to my T5442. Can confirm all is working now including IVS. thanks.

Btw anyone with the hik what’s your LED settings please? Mine is default which is 15%

I have the 4208 which handles 8 cameras. the 4216 has support for 16 cams. Do some reading up. These are the models that don’t have a built in poe switch. Rather they plug into your network and then talk to your cameras over your lan.

Just got one of these yesterday. Works fine using onvif to my dahua 4208 nvr. nice colour images at night BUT I think I prefer the Dahua 5442 non-led which I think even tho black and white at night gives a better picture.

I had exactly the same issue. 1 or 2 cameras and SmartPSS works fine, any more you get that connection loss problem. If you want to use SmartPSS, setup the recording and then leave it alone and it will continue to work but once you try to view the recording setup later you will get that issue...

Only thing now is IVS events aren’t triggering! Hopefully dat file from Andy will fix that.

The quality of this 4mp 5442 compared to the 4631c-a Chinese hacked versions is something else. I have turned the IR off on the 5442 as I had enough IR light coming off from my other cameras and the 5442 is crystal clear in pitch dark outside. It’s something else. Think I’m going to start...

Did a factory reset and that’s fixed the issue. Camera seems to work fine now. Wish I had tried that before wasting 3 hours messing about with it. what’s the best audio codec to use. This 5442 only seems to have 8k in the g.711a codec?

Any idea please what the turn around time is for getting the triangle fix? I just emailed Andy my .dat file a couple of hours ago.

Overall what is the general consensus on the DS-2CD2347G1-LU, Good / bad? Is the Dahua 5442 LED better?

I just ordered one of these cameras yesterday from Andy. I hope mine doesn’t need this messing about with files for the triangle of death and broken IVS. Hope I haven’t made a mistake ordering this ☹️

I have exactly the same 8mp hik camera on the dahua nvr over onvif. The video is choppy on the main stream but smooth on the sub stream. Try the sub stream (fluent).

do you have another poe switch or poe adapter? Rather than connect the camera directly to the nvr can you try to connect to it over the network?
