Looking for suggestions on a DVR

Thanks teaf. Ya the cameras they have are all coax and a little older but the old dvr was running them that high fps (until it decided to cook itself). I have a call into geovision about thier cards. From the way i read the spec sheet for the gv-1240b cards, i think the card is offloarding...

Looking for suggestions on a DVR

I looked at the dvr spec sheet and it says it only goes up to 30 fps. Per an FBI request, the customer needs 120 fps min (at D1 resoution) for the cameras. It deals with the way the fbi van stich partial frames together to get full resolutions pictures.

Looking for suggestions on a DVR

I need some help looking for a DVR. I got pulled into this project on short notice. I need to replace a failed DVR. It currently runs 16 analog cameras running 4CIF at 200 IPS (or 120 FPS) recording from my understanding. When looking for a replacement DVR, almost everything i am finding is...

    reinstall windows on BI box

I have emailed BI about this a week ago and still haven't gotten a response (even though my maintenance is current which is discouraging). I need to wipe the C drive on my BI host and completely re-install windows due to an issue with NIC's after win10 updated to 1809. I have the BI app...

    Mount HDW5231RP-ZE on electrical box

SD card issue with .640 firmware?

I am using the gskill I linked above. I went and got 2 more cards today. 1 is a Samsung evo 64 gb and the other is the store brand microcenter (if you don't know what microcenter is, it is like a frys). pulled 1 cam down, put in the microcenter card and it worked with the .640 firmware...

sorry for the delay, work got in the way. i can try that one. my cameras are easy to get to if I need to right now. the firmware that you linked is older (622) that the lastest that andy posted in his sub forum (640) 20180523 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea posted 6/26/18

SD card issue with .640 firmware?

I have seen some other posts about this already. I have 2 IPC-HDW5231R-ZE. 1 is running the logoed and the other the non-logoed FW that andy posted up and both have 64gb SD cards in them. They fine on first boot but since then I do not see the cards in the local storage option in the...

Will even a top-of-the-line Asus router be an inadequate VPN server for a gigabit connection?

or use an older i5/i7 desktop with pfsense and a second nic card. if you are only using OpenVPN to remove view then you should be fine. if you are using OpenVPN to route your traffic through a vpn service (like nord) or you are trying to send remote camera data across the web to a dvr then...

    Camera Segmentation

if a switch is running layer 3 means that it can route between subnets. if it is running in layer 2 then it has to use something else to do the routing, it will only forward packets. looking at your diagram, first the link(s) between your pfsense box and switch. you only need 1 link if you...
  21. G

    Camera Segmentation

you can but if you want to keep the camera's in the same vlan/subnet as the dvr then it would be a lot harder (you would have to hairpin on the pfsense box, etc). I would just change your dvr to 10.0.1.x and call it a day. if you really wanted to be a little more secure, you can then modify...

    Camera Segmentation

either vlans or separate physical switches that connect to a decent firewall. I would suggest pfsense running on an older desktop (i5 or i7). you can then create the firewall rules and/or nat rules to limit what you want in and out of that subnet from both the internet and your PC subnet...

    ram sizing

ya I have seen that in cheap controllers. my day job is all data center stuff.... I got an LSI logic 9266-4i card and they are suppose to be able to compensate for that. I know the cisco servers can. I was going to play around with it. I might do 10 instead of 5, we will see. the intel raid...

    ram sizing

thanks, I did that already. all it says is "4 GB of memory is sufficient for a smaller system (perhaps 6 cameras?) but 8 GB is recommended for most systems. The largest systems (20+ cameras) may benefit from 16 GB." so it the breakpoint at 20 camera or below 20? also does that count memory...

    ram sizing

Hi, I am looking to setup a system BI system that has 12-15 HDW5231R-ZE cameras on it. Is 8gb going to be fine or do I need to set up to 16? ya I know it is more expensive but I am going to build an XPC (SZ270R8) for it. it is a small form factor that can hold a 4x 3.5 drives plus 2 M.2...
