Power flickered once, my IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS not working anymore.

I had a surge protector on the supply for the camera. It is still indicating it is fine. Yeah, ups on remote points is going on my list. This is a set up at home. I got five years out of the camera. The replacement camera from Amazon came in today. What a pain setting it up. I picked the...

Thanks for the link, I have one on order. I gave it 60 seconds the first time but I'll try your suggestion.

Power flickered once, my IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS not working anymore.

I've been using the above camera for a few years, worked just fine. Today the power flickered off for a second. One wifi light bulb died and this camera won't connect. I can ping it but it often drops packets, I've seen close to 5000 msec at times. Thought it might be the wifi router I'm...

Blue Iris said it expired on 2/4/2024

I looked up the email from when I renewed and plugged the code in. Now it expires in April. Do you have to plug a new key in every renewal? I don't remember.

I rebooted my machine today and when I launched the UI it said my key was expired as of 2/4/2024, I've been paying for support every April. I checked Paypal and I can see that I paid 4/2023. Anyone else having a problem?

I run my microwave oven, the camera ip switches to the ap address

Looney2ns suggestion solved my problem but you are correct about leaking. My 2015 Panasonic microwave died this morning and the Toshiba unit I purchased doesn't seem to affect my wifi.

I run my microwave oven, the camera ip switches to the ap address

Well that is interesting. I read about recording mac addresses to deal with DHCP changing a camera's IP in the whats new, is that what you wanted me to read? AngryIP finds the AP at 192.168.1.20 with the exact same mac as the camera at 192.168.1.106 . I guess this can happen as I've bound...

I run my microwave oven, the camera ip switches to the ap address

This is weird. I'm running 5.6.5.0 x64. I'm used to running my microwave and having two cameras on 2.4g wifi winking out until the microwave stops. I'll get them hardwired next year when I retire. One camera didn't come back. I could get to it from the pc running BI using firefox...

Wierd issue after a Windows feature update.

Just before the new years my W10 home box underwent a feature update. I let it happen on my laptop a couple months ago and it went okay so I didn't expect issues. Once the updating was done, Blue Iris wanted the registration code. I guess it thought it was on a different box. Took me a while...

Is usb3.0 fast enough for hard drive storage?

You might want to be sure you are plugged into an usb 3 port. My Dell XPS 8910 has a variety of ports. • Two USB 2.0 ports • Eight USB 3.0 ports • One USB 3.1 Type-A port • One USB 3.1 Type-C port Plugging your 3.0 device into a 2.0 port is going to be slow.

660MB storage on my phone, how do I free some up?

I'm trying to figure out why the mobile app is using 660 MB of storage and how to free some up. Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7. I'm trying to figure out why I get alerts with no preview picture most of the time.

I just set up a VPN, now my push notifications on mobile devices doesn't have a picture.

My first attempt at setting up a vpn. I'm using a Linksys WRT 3200 ACM router. I get push notifications but the snapshot picture is missing, just a white box. If I go back to port forwarding and turn off the vpn I get my picture. My tablet that is on the wifi has the same problem. It isn't...

Three monitors, the left and right ones minimize on their own.

W10 Home box. I have three monitors, BI is up on the left one, I do most of my work on the center one and use the right one to monitor an IRC channel. I'll be working and then I notice the left and right monitor have minimized. I have no idea what is causing it. Can someone tell me what is...

    BI "overhead" CPU usage?

You are right about the model number. It is a Dell XPS 8910. I had a brain fart. I use that GPU for cad and astrophotography. I guess I can try unchecking the use gpu box and see what happens. It also has a Intel HD graphics 530 in it that I'm not using. When I want a 4th monitor I'll...

    BI "overhead" CPU usage?

I'm running 4 cams right now as I'm learning my way. I was at 25% with cameras just recording alerts. I started reading on how to reduce the load and now I'm at 8% with 3 of the cameras duplicated so I can have alerts and continuously record. I haven't turned down frame rates yet. I'm taking...

    Lightning protection for ethernet cables

Once winter fades away, I'm going to need to run some ethernet cables to out buildings to support ipcams using POE. I haven't found much about lightning protection. If a camera gets hit, well so sad, but I don't want to have routers and my pc and other wired networked devices harmed. Am I...

Do you record 24/7 or motion only?

Motion only, I'm residential in a low crime area.

Do you hide your hard drive?

I'm not running continuous recording, just motion alerts. Right after BI captures, the files are sent to various raspberry pi's via wireless networking. It is a work in progress right now as I'm new at this stuff.

    Hello. Reading and learning.

Just started playing with this stuff. I have a couple bullet cams and BI running. Since it is winter, the cameras are just looking out the windows, I'll mount them come spring. To the new user that posted link to Cliff notes, thanks for that. Clutch
