Hi All
Looking for some advice about a new system.
Before I go on, I know there will be suggestions about VBR and lowering fps etc, but I am genuinely curious to know what would be needed and what bottlenecks would arise around pushing everything to maximum.
Looking at a mixture of observation and identification cameras, good night time vision (thinking, supplimental IR for 8MP and 1/1.8" Dahua)
Not looking for industrial grade and budgets of millionaires, more of a, take the better suggested cameras that are mostly recommended for 8MP and turn everything up to 11.
These are the settings off the top of my head for pushing a system
12 x 8MP, all running at 25/30 fps
8192 bit rate or higher
CBR
H265+
(anything else that would stress a system?)
So....
Would a cat6 1gig network crap out?
What PC h/w would be needed i.e. i7 6700 (lower or higher CPU)
How much storage would be needed for continuous recording of all cams.
